Why do IT-Design-Economics majors attract candidates?

Dr. Ngo Thi Thu, Head of the Faculty of Business Administration, said that statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training over the years show that the business management major attracts many candidates. This comes from their interests, personal abilities and jobs after graduation. According to research, in the next 5 years, there will be 6 majors that attract a lot of demand, of which the business management major is in the top 3. These majors also have flexibility in work. The level of competition for admission depends on the quota, the number of registrations and the scores of candidates. However, schools also reduce competitive pressure by diversifying occupations, creating differences in the design of training programs.

Dr. Luong An Vinh, Head of the Information Technology Department, said that the information technology (IT) industry has a high demand for human resources. The world is in the digital transformation phase, so it needs a lot of human resources. All fields need human resources in this industry. The average income in this industry is higher than other industries, especially in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), security with a salary of up to 2,000-3,000 USD.

Master Phung Ba Dong, Deputy Head of the Design Department, shared a simple way for candidates to understand the design industry: ''Products such as candy boxes, phones, pens, coffee shop spaces... are products of the industrial design industry. This industry has 3 elements: art, engineering and technology. The training program for the industrial design industry has 4 main majors including graphic design, interior design, product design and fashion design.''

Master Phung Ba Dong emphasized: ''The role of a designer is to turn ideas into products for consumers to help businesses sell their products. The demand for human resources in this industry is very attractive because people are very interested in aesthetics and functionality, improving the quality of life''.

Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Director of the International Training Center, said that STU has a joint training program with Troy University in the US with more than 1,500 graduates. The school is focusing on training in information technology (computer science and information security).

These majors are based on Troy University's curriculum, taught by leading Troy University professors. In addition to specialized knowledge, these programs also have many subjects that help students gain comprehensive knowledge and skills in literature, art, etc., increasing job opportunities.
