In the early days of Spring, the Pac Bo mountains and forests are immersed in the bitter cold. Walking on the path leading to the Exhibition House of the Pac Bo Special National Relic Site, Mr. Duong Chi Quan, 79 years old (nephew of Mr. Duong Van Dinh, who served Uncle Ho and other revolutionary cadres during his revolutionary activities in Pac Bo) led the story, taking us back to the Spring of Tan Ty in 1941.

84 years ago, on January 28, 1941, the second day of the Lunar New Year, Pac Bo land was honored to welcome Uncle Ho back. Landmark 108 on the Vietnam - China border in Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province is where he set foot on the land of the Fatherland, returning to his homeland after a 30-year journey to find a way to save the country and save the people.

When Uncle Ho was in Pac Bo, the people only knew and called him “Mr. Ke” (in the local language, Old Man). He often visited, met and talked with the people of Pac Bo village; then taught the people to read and write, took care of the children, and visited each old person. The image of “Mr. Ke” was deeply imprinted in the hearts of the people of Pac Bo in the early days of the revolution when he lived and worked here.

Cao Bang is the place where many important events took place associated with the glorious history of the nation under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Among them was the 8th Conference of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party at Khuoi Nam - Pac Bo hut, Ha Quang (held from May 10 to 19, 1941). The conference put the task of national liberation first and established the Vietnam Independence League (abbreviated as Viet Minh). In December 1944, he issued a directive to establish the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army (the predecessor of today's Vietnam People's Army).

The presence of “Mr. Ke” in the Pac Bo border mountains and forests marked milestones in the heroic history of the nation. In the Pac Bo mountains and forests, he led and made decisions for the Vietnamese revolutionary path. In May 1945, he left Pac Bo for Tan Trao - Tuyen Quang. In the resistance capital, he and our Party convened the National Congress, established the National Liberation Committee, issued the August General Uprising order and won victory, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Twenty years after the first Tet holiday he returned to Pac Bo, on February 20, 1961, the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, Uncle Ho visited and wished the people of Pac Bo - Ha Quang a Happy New Year. The people of all ethnic groups enthusiastically welcomed Uncle Ho in the indigo shirts of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups; white skirts and colorful floral shirts of the Mong ethnic groups... After leaving Pac Bo, in a meeting to talk to the people and cadres of the whole province at the headquarters of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee (January 21, 1961), Uncle Ho hoped that Cao Bang province would soon become one of the exemplary provinces in the cause of building socialism in the North, as before Cao Bang was one of the leading provinces in the national liberation revolution.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition, the Party Committee, government and ethnic people of Cao Bang province always keep in mind the profound teachings of Uncle Ho; actively study and follow his ideology, morality and style, compete in labor production, and build the homeland to develop more and more. In 2024, the province's GRDP growth rate is estimated at 6.74%, an increase of 3.01 percentage points compared to 2023, the highest increase in recent years. Cao Bang has also become a destination for domestic and foreign tourists. In 2024, the whole province welcomed 1.8 million visitors, with estimated revenue of over 1,360 billion VND, an increase of 9.8% compared to 2023.

Nghi lễ lấy nước đầu nguồn của đồng bào dân tộc Nùng trong khuôn khổ Lễ hội về nguồn Pác Bó được tổ chức ngay sau Giao thừa hoặc vào sáng sớm mồng Một Tết Nguyên đán để dâng hương tưởng niệm Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh, đồng thời cầu cho quốc thái dân an, mưa thuận gió hòa, mùa màng bội thu
The Nung ethnic people's water collection ceremony within the Pac Bo Source Festival is held right after New Year's Eve or early in the morning of the first day of Lunar New Year to offer incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, and at the same time pray for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and bountiful harvests.

As for Truong Ha commune of Ha Quang district, compared to the general level, the commune is considered a bright spot of Cao Bang province in socio-economic development. Truong Ha is the first commune in Cao Bang province to achieve new rural standards (NTM) in 2015. Implementing the set of criteria for building NTM in the period of 2021 - 2025, Truong Ha has now achieved 14/19 criteria. The whole commune has 826 households, of which 102 are poor and 69 are near-poor. With investment resources and support from the State, Truong Ha commune is striving to "reach the finish line" of NTM in 2025.

After 84 springs, the revolutionary homeland of Pac Bo still retains its peaceful and poetic beauty, with stilt houses nestled at the foot of the undulating mountains; surrounded by mountains on all sides, each tree and stone still bears the image and footprints of the Man. Each place and each point has become a historical relic that Pac Bo people and Cao Bang people cherish and preserve, a "red address", a tourist destination on the journey back to the source of visitors from all over.
