On the occasion of National Day September 2, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers nationwide had 4 days off (from August 31 to September 3). The weather conditions were also quite favorable, so the number of visitors coming to visit, experience and relax at tourist attractions in Quang Tri province was very large, estimated at 58,240 visitors (an increase of 187.9% compared to the 2023 holiday), mainly domestic visitors.

In the beach area, early morning and late afternoon attract a lot of people and tourists to play and swim. Especially, during this year's holiday, many tourists have researched and chosen Con Co Island to visit and relax. Compared to previous years, the number of tourists coming to the sea and islands in 2024 has increased significantly with about 22,400 visitors.

In addition, on August 31, in Hai Hung commune, Hai Lang district, the Tra Loc “Pha Tram” Festival was held, a unique traditional festival that dates back more than 300 years, attracting 9,250 visitors from inside and outside the province to participate and experience. In addition, the Provincial Museum and Relic Management Center welcomed and served about 8,000 visitors from inside and outside the country to visit, offer incense and flowers at the relic sites.

In Huong Hoa district, attractive destinations such as Ta Puong waterfall, Chenh Venh waterfall, Ta Du stream, homestays, farmstays... have attracted more than 12,300 visitors from inside and outside the province to visit, bathe, relax and have fun during the hot days.

According to Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Huong Hoa district Ho Ngoc Tinh, in order to prepare to welcome a large number of visitors during the holiday, the local government, agencies, units and businesses in the area have proactively renewed tourism products, completed infrastructure and human resources, and at the same time developed plans to ensure traffic safety, food hygiene and safety, and ensure fire prevention and fighting conditions for visitors to come and relax.

Understanding the needs and tastes of tourists, accommodation establishments in the province have proactively prepared facilities and diversified services. Most accommodation establishments strictly list room prices and sell at the listed prices, do not increase room prices, service prices, or squeeze tourists; maintain service quality as committed; especially conduct civilized behavior to create sympathy with tourists. Room occupancy rate during the holidays is estimated at over 50%, of which room occupancy rate in the Western Quang Tri region is 100%, and in the coastal area is 80% - 90%.

In addition, according to statistics from the Lao Bao International Border Guard Station, from September 1 to 3, 2024, the unit completed immigration procedures for 3,765 people and 1,080 vehicles passing through the border gate. On average, each holiday day, the number of passengers decreased by 40% and the number of vehicles decreased by 55% compared to normal days.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Manh Truong, Political Commissar of Lao Bao International Border Post, said that to support people in completing immigration procedures smoothly, the unit has developed plans and prepared solutions right from the first days of the holiday, strictly maintaining shifts and ensuring the number of personnel. However, this year, the number of Vietnamese people living and doing business in Laos completing customs procedures to return home for the holiday has shown signs of decreasing compared to previous years.

In order to facilitate the procedures for immigration at international border gates in the province, Quang Tri has implemented electronic visas in exploiting international tours of 3 provinces - 3 countries (Quang Tri/Vietnam - Savannakhet/Laos - Mukdahan/Thailand) at the two international border gates of Lao Bao and La Lay.

Accordingly, all citizens of countries entering Vietnam can register for visas through electronic devices. Compared to the normal process, the time to process procedures at the border gate is reduced by 30% due to the shortened time to look up information through the integrated online software of E-visa. Thanks to that, the procedures for people to enter Vietnam are carried out more quickly and strictly. This is a favorable condition to attract more tourists from other countries to Quang Tri, especially during holidays and Tet in the year.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Van Hoan said: “During the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, the department and businesses strictly followed the legal regulations on prices, not allowing the situation of arbitrarily raising prices or soliciting customers. Total tourism revenue during this holiday is estimated at 39.6 billion VND.”
