This achievement of Bui Thi Ngan is better than the parameter she achieved at the 32nd SEA Games last year in Cambodia, which was 4 minutes 24 seconds 57. Also today, Vietnamese athletics won a second gold medal thanks to Nguyen Trung Cuong in the 3,000m steeplechase. The reigning SEA Games 32 champion beat competitors from Indonesia, the Philippines and host Taiwan to finish first with a time of 9 minutes 06 seconds 93.
