Over the years, the Provincial Red Cross Society (RCS) has actively mobilized organizations and individuals to participate in many humanitarian and charitable activities, demonstrating its core role as a "bridge" between kind-hearted people and the poor. Through these activities, it has helped and created conditions for many families in difficult circumstances to improve their lives, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies in the area.

Spread acts of kindness
Although she moved to her new house in August 2024, when talking to us, Ms. Hoang Thi Ly in Zone 7, Hoang Cuong Commune, Thanh Ba District still had the same feeling of joy and excitement of the first day living in a spacious house. Her family is a poor household, she herself is in poor health, often sick, has an unstable income, and her children are of school age. Understanding her difficult situation, the Thanh Ba District Red Cross Association has stepped in to find out and support the construction of a new house for her family with an area of 90m2 , total value of nearly 200 million VND.
Ms. Ly shared: “Previously, my family lived in a cramped old house that was seriously degraded. I was often sick and had no ability to build a new house. With the help and support of the Red Cross Association at all levels, my family has a solid house like today. I am very happy...”.
It is known that in 2021, Ms. Ly's family was also supported by the District Red Cross Society with a breeding cow from the "Cow Bank" Program as a source of livelihood. After more than 3 years of raising cows, the initial breeding cow gave birth to 3 litters, Ms. Ly's family handed over the first litter of cows to the Red Cross Society, and the family sold the next 2 litters of cows, bringing income to the family.
Promoting the tradition of "Mutual love and support", the Thanh Ba District Red Cross Association always focuses on promoting the socialization of humanitarian and charitable activities to mobilize resources to effectively implement humanitarian activities in the area. From 2021 to present, the Association has coordinated with organizations and individuals to participate in humanitarian movements, campaigns, build humanitarian houses and other humanitarian support activities with a total value of nearly 8 billion VND, assisting over 22,900 people.
To be worthy of being the "red address" of benevolent hearts, the Viet Tri City Red Cross Association constantly innovates its content and methods of operation according to the motto of focusing on the grassroots and the interests of the people. The Association's campaigns and emulation movements have been actively implemented, achieving high results, with the total value of humanitarian activities from 2021 to present reaching over 21.5 billion VND, providing relief to 31,966 people.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thuy - President of the City Red Cross Association said: To continue spreading humanitarian values, the Association has regularly built and maintained grassroots activities; increased propaganda and mobilized organizations, individuals and businesses to actively participate in humanitarian and charitable movements. Thereby, arousing and promoting the spirit of mutual love and affection in the community to help many people in difficult circumstances, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies in the area...
Many poor and disadvantaged families in Thanh Ba district were given the opportunity to escape poverty when participating in the "Cow Bank" project.
Leave no one behind...
With the humanitarian goal of "leaving no one behind", social work, disaster prevention and response, natural disasters and Red Cross activities have been highly effective in recent times. The Provincial Red Cross Association has developed an action plan, mobilized resources; directed Red Cross Associations at all levels to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity in building humanitarian addresses and humanitarian fund boxes in the locality, as a basis to attract units, organizations and individuals to participate in building funds and implementing humanitarian activities. At the same time, promote propaganda work through forms such as banners, leaflets, social networks, mass media, propaganda integrated into the Association's activities... to spread humanitarian activities in the community.
Halfway through the term of implementing the Resolution of the 8th Provincial Red Cross Congress, term 2021 - 2026, the Provincial Red Cross Association has mobilized more than 304 billion VND, supporting more than 971,000 people in difficult circumstances; mobilized the construction of 453 humanitarian houses, worth over 49.5 billion VND. Mobilized nearly 70,000 members to register for voluntary blood donation and received over 64,000 units of blood; organized medical examinations, health consultations, and provided free medicine for more than 105,000 people... The total value of Humanitarian Month activities for 3 years (2021-2023) reached over 37 billion VND, supporting more than 67,000 beneficiaries.
From these movements and campaigns, many models, volunteer groups, and project ideas in the humanitarian and charitable fields have emerged, such as the Thanh Thuy District Volunteer Group, the Doan Hung Loving Volunteer Group, and the 19 Charity Rice Project with a price of 0 VND/meal at No. 12, Lane 190, Han Thuyen Street, Tan Dan Ward, Viet Tri City, which have actively helped patients' families and patients in difficult circumstances who are being treated at the Provincial General Hospital.
Mr. Han Quang Du - founder of Charity Rice Project 19 said: The project has been in operation since the beginning of 2021, and has so far provided nearly 200,000 meals and received over 1.8 billion VND from benefactors across the country along with ingredients and food for preparing meals, helping many poor patients in difficult circumstances reduce costs during treatment.
Through annual humanitarian activities, Red Cross societies at all levels have supported hundreds of thousands of poor people, people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, people in natural disasters, and misfortunes... Typically, last September, due to the impact of storm No. 3 (YaGi) and the storm's circulation in the province, it caused a lot of damage to people and facilities, estimated at thousands of billions of VND. Red Cross societies at all levels have had many new and creative ways of working, closely linked with the work of mobilizing, receiving and supporting over 6.7 billion VND in cash, 310 tons of goods and necessities worth over 90 billion VND; timely relief, helping over 11,500 households gradually stabilize their lives during and after the storm.
Mr. Bui Van Huan - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society said: To achieve the above results, Red Cross societies at all levels have continuously improved the quality of activities, regularly innovated content and methods; promoted emulation movements, directed activities to the grassroots and disadvantaged areas in the province; actively mobilized resources for humanitarian and charitable activities; promoted the role of a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian activities; paid attention to training and fostering the team of Association officials to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation; strengthened propaganda, mobilization, attraction and development of members and volunteers; raised awareness among cadres, members, youth, volunteers and people about the Red Cross and International Red Crescent movements to honor and multiply humanitarian and charitable values, and widely spread benevolent hearts in the social community.
