Lazy, undisciplined, impatient, easily giving up, impulsive, rash, or even talking back to the boss... are quite familiar assessments about Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) that appear not only in personal statements but also in many surveys and studies.
However, another perspective on Gen Z human resources was mentioned by recruiters at the seminar "Students and pupils dialogue with CEOs" within the framework of the recruitment day program of the University of Finance and Marketing.

Besides the limitations, many business representatives highly appreciate Gen Z human resources, this generation has outstanding advantages.
Dr. Dinh Mong Kha, CEO of Vietguys, said that GenZ has something that the people sitting here do not have: youth, ambition, and creativity. You have a much greater personality and ability to master the game than previous generations.
The previous generation, in an era where there was no internet or the internet was not yet developed, according to Ms. Kha, the thing people had to worry about the most was what to wear, which could lead to a lack of creative motivation like today's youth.
Talking about the impulsive and rash characteristics of young people that are often mentioned, Dr. Kha expressed that in every generation, young people have such moments. Perhaps now is the era of information explosion, but before "I was like that too but few people mentioned or talked about it".
"I say this not to defend Gen Z, you also have lessons to overcome. But in general, especially in the technology and marketing field where I work, there is always a need and priority for the young workforce. Not only Gen Z, but now we have to look to the generation after Gen Z, Gen Alpha.
Working with the young generation, we need to prepare more for how to adapt to them rather than looking at them from a negative perspective," Dr. Dinh Mong Kha emphasized.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Vo Minh Tan, Head of Marketing Department of GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company, said that Gen Z is a generation born with the internet, born and raised with the rapid development of technology.
This advantage helps you become very sharp, very creative as well as have full conditions and skills to work and contribute.
With this advantage, Mr. Tan believes that if the young generation is more disciplined, especially when they grasp the right direction, they will be able to do a lot for themselves, businesses and the community.
Experience comes from… parents' food and clothes
"Students graduate without experience but businesses recruit people with experience. Where do students get experience?", this familiar question is still asked by many young people.
Ms. Nguyen Le Bao Huyen, representative of Sofitel Saigon Hotel, said that no business requires new graduates to be able to do everything like an experienced employee.
The experience I want to talk about here comes from your parents' food and clothing, from your daily life and study. This is shown in the learning process, did you do an internship? How long did you do the internship? What was the spirit of the internship?...

"The workplace has certain standards and principles. Going to work and eating must be on time, not just going when you feel like it and taking a break when you don't feel like it. What businesses need from you first is awareness and discipline rather than whether you know how to do it or not," said Ms. Huyen.
Mr. Le Van Nghia, Director of Thu Duc branch - Thien Khoi Group, stated that the two words "experience" have a very broad meaning. From a young age, eating, walking, participating in traffic, behaving... or any activity requires experience.
For students, you are mainly in a learning environment, not having much experience is normal.
The director emphasized: "Employers will not require you to have high professional experience, but when you come to any business, you should learn carefully about that place and the job positions. Like myself, the most important thing for me is the candidate's attitude, then the level."
Before this answer, a student asked again: "I'm punctual, I dress politely but I have no experience, will you hire me?"
Mr. Truong Anh Tuan, Director of Vietcombank Ky Dong Branch - Ho Chi Minh City, shared that the elders said "smartness does not come to children, health does not come to old age", human development follows the sequence of "giving birth to children then giving birth to fathers, giving birth to grandchildren in the family then giving birth to grandfathers". Young people do not need to be too concerned about whether they have experience or not.
At Vietcombank, Mr. Tuan informed that many recruitment campaigns clearly stated "recruiting inexperienced employees", this number accounts for 70-80%.
"Candidates without experience are also an advantage because you are like a blank sheet of paper, and can "draw on you" the corporate culture. In the banking sector, the most important thing is ethics, then work attitude, and experience will come when you come into contact with reality, receive guidance and support," this person advised.
