(Dan Tri) - A house in the mountainous commune of An Toan (An Lao district, Binh Dinh province) burned down on New Year's Eve. The fire broke out when the homeowner went to the village to celebrate New Year's Eve.
On January 29, Mr. Do Tung Lam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Lao district (Binh Dinh province) said that the government had visited and supported people whose houses were burned down on New Year's Eve in village 3 (An Toan commune, An Lao district).
According to Mr. Lam, at 0:00 on the same day, right at the time of the New Year's Eve of At Ty 2025, the house of Mr. Dinh Van Hung (47 years old, An Toan commune) suddenly caught fire. Cold weather, strong winds and wooden objects in the house caused the fire to spread quickly and fiercely.
Although the locals quickly reported to the local authorities and joined together to help put out the fire, it was unsuccessful. According to statistics, Mr. Hung's nearly 100m2 house was completely burned down, causing an estimated loss of 300-350 million VND.
Fortunately, at the time of the fire, Mr. Hung had left his house to celebrate New Year's Eve with his villagers, so there was no danger to his life.
After the fire, leaders of An Lao District People's Committee visited, encouraged and provided initial support to Mr. Hung's family.
Local leaders said that in the short term, they are mobilizing people and units to take care of Mr. Hung's family during Tet. In the long term, the locality will mobilize more resources to try to rebuild a new house for him.
Regarding the cause of the fire, Mr. Lam said that it could be due to the cold weather, people in the mountainous areas often light fires to keep warm, leading to the house fire. However, the police force is still investigating the cause of the fire.
