Accordingly, on March 15, Mr. Kim Jong Un inspected the construction site of 10,000 apartments in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang. The project is in phase 3 of a 4-phase plan to build 40,000 apartments in this area.
"This is an important development to enhance the function and strategic status of the capital. This is of great experimental significance in bringing Pyongyang's new era of prosperity to a higher level," Kim Jong Un emphasized during his inspection.
In 2021, North Korea announced plans to build 50,000 new apartments in Pyongyang over five years, and has so far completed 30,000. The country began construction on the final 10,000 units last month.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kim Jong Un has directed officials to prepare to hold an inauguration ceremony for 10,000 apartments before the Day of the Sun on April 15, the birthday of the late leader Kim Il Sung.
