From changing living and consumption habits to joining hands with the community to clean up and maintain the hygiene of living areas, contributing to building a green, clean and beautiful living space as well as spreading awareness of environmental protection.
Practicing a “green” lifestyle, Ms. Hoang Hong Anh (26 years old, village 2, Ea Kao commune, Buon Ma Thuot city) said that for more than 3 years now, she has gradually eliminated plastic waste from her daily life by replacing disposable products with reusable materials. “Instead of using plastic cups or foam boxes at restaurants, every time I go to buy food and drinks, I will bring thermos cups, glass boxes or recycled plastic boxes. Or when I go to the market, I also bring cloth bags to store them instead of using plastic bags. At first, when they saw me doing that, many people felt strange and surprised, but gradually they also showed interest, sometimes shop owners even gave me promotions and discounts on products. Seeing the benefits of my “green” lifestyle, many relatives and friends around me also learned and followed. I feel very happy to be able to spread a useful work, bringing many positive values to myself and the community,” Ms. Hong Anh expressed.

Or like Ms. Phan Thi Phan (28 years old, Ea Tam ward, Buon Ma Thuot city), besides cleaning up the waste around her living area, she always sorts and processes waste at home to minimize the amount of waste released into the environment. “After sorting household waste, I often use organic waste to compost for ornamental plants. For disposable cups, plastic bottles, and food containers, I went online to learn how to recycle and instructed my children to make flower pots…”, Ms. Phan shared.
With the aim of spreading and inspiring environmental protection, green living, and responsible living to young people as well as everyone in the community, towards a green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam, in August 2019, young people who love the environment across the country joined hands to establish the "Green Vietnam" community. As a unit under "Green Vietnam", for nearly 6 years, the "Green Dak Lak" community has attracted thousands of volunteers, students and people to participate in green campaigns organized in the province with many programs and activities such as: the "Clean up Vietnam" campaign held twice a year; collecting and exchanging old batteries for trees and books; making trash bins to sort at source, recycling old tires...

Mr. Do Anh Thinh, Head of the "Green Dak Lak" community group, said: "Through information channels, each time the campaigns are launched, they attract a large number of people, especially students. This shows that the young generation is increasingly concerned about the environment and is gradually becoming the core force in the fight against plastic waste, cleaning up spontaneous landfills, contributing to forming and spreading social awareness, attitudes and environmentally friendly behaviors. Not stopping at collecting and recycling waste, in the future, we are aiming to increase propaganda and organize activities in schools to help students raise their awareness of environmental protection."
As a member of the “Green Dak Lak” community for more than 2 years, Hoang Chau Giang (2nd year student, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy) has participated in nearly 10 large and small activities with other volunteers in the province. “I feel very happy and proud to contribute my part to keeping the environment green, clean and beautiful. Especially every time I return to the areas that the group used to clean up, I no longer see littering happening, this shows that our actions have somewhat impacted the people here, gradually changing their attitudes towards environmental protection,” Chau Giang confided.
Living "green" is not only a trend but also a way of life that each person needs to apply to develop a sustainable future for themselves and society; contributing to environmental protection and conservation of natural resources.
