On July 21, Hai Chau District Police (Da Nang City) are investigating and handling the case of a man who drugged a lottery ticket seller to get money.

According to initial investigation, at around 8:00 p.m. on July 16, Ms. NTM (53 years old, from Quang Ngai, working as a lottery ticket vendor in Da Nang) went to the Hoa Thuan Tay Ward Police Station, Hai Chau District to report that her property had been stolen.

According to the statement, at about 1:45 p.m. the same day, Ms. M. was walking on Le Dinh Ly Street towards Nguyen Hoang Street when she met a man named Phong (identity and background unknown) who regularly bought lottery tickets.

This person gave her a glass of fruit juice, and because she was a regular customer, Mrs. M. did not suspect anything and drank it all. Then Phong drove his motorbike to take Mrs. M. back to her rented room in an alley on Nguyen Tri Phuong Street (Hoa Thuan Tay Ward).

After returning to her rented room, Mrs. M. was unconscious for a while. When she woke up, she discovered that more than 6 million VND in her pocket was missing.

Upon receiving the report, the police quickly dispatched an investigation force and identified the suspect as Nguyen Dang Phong (52 years old, residing in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang).

Continuing to verify, the family said that for the past 3 years, Mr. Phong has rarely been home and currently does not know where he goes or what he does. When the police were actively searching for him, on July 18, Phong came forward and confessed his actions.

This person confessed that due to debt and lack of money, he had the idea of appropriating Ms. M's property. Phong put sleeping pills in a glass of fruit juice and gave it to Ms. M to drink. When Ms. M. was drugged and fell into a coma, Phong searched her handbag, took 6.3 million VND and fled to Quang Ngai province.

However, knowing that the police were looking for him, Phong returned to Da Nang to surrender.
