Monkeys destroy crops of people in Phu Nhieu 2 village
"Currently, local authorities can only guide people to apply manual expulsion measures to protect their crops," said Mr. Phuc.
According to the people of Phu Nhieu 2 village, Binh Tan Phu commune, for nearly a week, many people's corn fields have been destroyed by wild monkeys. Many corn fields have been destroyed by monkeys by more than half, causing heavy damage to the people.
Many corn areas were destroyed by monkeys.
"A troop of more than 60 monkeys came to destroy my family's corn field, which was almost ready for harvest. They broke many corn plants, ate all the kernels, leaving behind a scene of devastation. More than 2/3 of my family's corn field was destroyed by them," said Mr. Tran Dung (63 years old, living in Phu Nhieu 2 village, Binh Tan Phu commune).
When they discovered people coming, the monkeys ran up the mountain.
In addition to destroying corn , monkeys also destroy rice and cassava growing areas, making agricultural production difficult. Many families decide to harvest crops early to limit further destruction by monkeys.
According to the people of Phu Nhieu 2 village, in the past, monkeys have come down many times to destroy people's crops.
"We hope the government will take measures to fix this problem. If monkeys keep biting and destroying the land like this, we won't be able to cultivate anything," said a resident of Phu Nhieu 2 village.
