Regarding the story of a lottery ticket seller begging customers to buy tickets, two readers who are retired teachers and officials sent their opinions to: Tuoi Tre Online shares more about this issue.

Without begging, it is difficult to sell 100 lottery tickets a day.

I have had the opportunity to travel to many places, live in several different areas and currently live and work in the West, so I have the opportunity to observe life around me.

Western people are gentle and honest, and lottery tickets in the West sell more than in other places in the country.

Many times, sitting in a coffee shop in the morning or choosing a corner to work, I still see arms holding lottery tickets in front of me.

Many times, while sitting in a restaurant, just putting food in my mouth, someone comes up to offer to buy lottery tickets. When eating a bowl of fish noodles, I have to continuously refuse lottery ticket sellers many times.

When waiting at a red light on the street, filling up gas, or going to the market, I often see people offering to buy lottery tickets...

Some people greeted. Some begged. Some people greeted and cried. Some people just bought their tickets and asked for change. Some people showed their lottery tickets and said nothing…

Not only selling lottery tickets, there are also cases where people hold lottery tickets but also offer to sell lottery numbers.

Honestly, sometimes I feel annoyed, especially when I am sitting down to eat and someone is selling lottery tickets. But then I sympathize because that is the livelihood of many people.

Each lottery ticket costs 10,000 VND and the seller receives a commission of 1,000 VND. You must sell 100 lottery tickets to receive a commission of 100,000 VND.

If you are lucky and get a lot of buyers, it will sell out quickly. If you are unlucky, you will have to walk from shop to shop, from street to street all day and still not sell all 100 lottery tickets. If you cannot sell all of them, it will of course affect your family's life.

Very few lottery ticket sellers want to bother customers. They also don't want to go around the village and alleys inviting customers to buy tickets.

But if you set up a table to sell lottery tickets in a fixed place, the number of people coming to buy is not much, so you have to go out to solicit.

The person being offered to buy may or may not buy. It is understandable that the seller will beg the buyer to sell the goods.

However, it is also necessary to behave appropriately so as not to cause inconvenience to buyers but can help sellers earn more income.

Looked at a stack of several hundred lottery tickets and returned them without buying any.

In contrast to the annoyance caused by the sellers' excessive begging, in reality there are cases where street lottery ticket sellers sometimes encounter unpleasant situations, even uncivilized behavior.

Like the time at a drinking party, I witnessed a middle-aged customer groping and holding the hand of a lottery ticket seller, causing her to burst into tears on the spot.

Another time, when there was alcohol involved, a customer even asked a woman selling lottery tickets to kiss him before buying them, or else she would have to "disappear" somewhere else.

For a living, for the sake of selling lottery tickets, some women also accept it.

Ms. LPTh. (41 years old), from Vinh Long, was formerly a worker in Tan Tao Industrial Park (HCMC), said: After quitting her job, her husband died of liver cancer, her two children were unemployed, so she had to sell lottery tickets to earn a living for her family.

She never fails to smile when inviting customers to buy lottery tickets. Some customers even ask her to show them a stack of several hundred lottery tickets and then… not buy any. She still smiles and hopes that customers will support her next time.

Another lottery ticket seller is Ms. NTTT (32 years old), from Hau Giang. She has two children who are still in school and because she has no land to cultivate, both husband and wife have to go to Long Trach Industrial Park (Can Duoc, Long An) to sell lottery tickets to support their children.

Ms. T. confided: There are times when I want to sell a few lottery tickets and have to smile even though customers make impolite jokes.

There are even guests who behave in a substandard manner.

Both Ms. T. and Th. admitted that in reality, there are some lottery ticket vendors who intentionally pressure customers, making them angry or forcing them to buy a few lottery tickets to get it over with, especially in crowded cafes or at parties.

But for those who invite to buy lottery tickets, sometimes the invitation is not answered or just shakes the head, but they are not sad and before leaving, they do not forget to leave a thank you.
