Despite her busy international competition schedule in 2023, Nguyen Thuy Linh always prioritizes reuniting with her family during Tet. "Except for mandatory tournaments that coincide with Tet, I prioritize these days to return to my family. I compete all year long and rarely go home, so I miss the feeling of being with my family during the holidays," said the Vietnamese badminton beauty queen.

The badminton player, who has been pursuing her passion for badminton for nearly 15 years, added that in her free time she likes to read books, listen to music, or go out to eat and shop. Nguyen Thuy Linh also revealed that she loves sweets and especially drinks... milk tea. Few people know that it was because of her love for sweets that the girl from Phu Tho province fell in love with badminton and played well since she was a child. "When I first learned to play badminton, my grandfather gave me difficult exercises and set the condition that if I completed them well, I would be rewarded with a cup of sweet soup. Because of my love for sweet soup, I gradually conquered the exercises my grandfather gave me. Thanks to that, I became better and better at playing and became passionate about badminton," Nguyen Thuy Linh recalled.
Nguyen Thuy Linh said that until now she is still a fan of sweet foods and drinks, especially milk tea. "In addition to main meals, my diet also includes nutritional supplements before, during and after training sessions or matches. That is also the secret to helping me get enough nutrition and maintain good physical condition in international tournaments with high competition density and intensity when I go deep into the rounds. In addition, I also reward myself with cups of milk tea. Many times when competing domestically and internationally, I have received milk tea from fans and feel very sweet with such a gift," Nguyen Thuy Linh smiled.

Orphaned from a young age and often away from home, Nguyen Thuy Linh trained herself to be strong and independent in life. Closing a busy and very successful year of competition, Nguyen Thuy Linh smiled with satisfaction: "I started 2023 outside the world's top 50, by mid-year I was in the world's top 30 and in the world's top 20 at the end of October. Those are dry numbers that I dreamed of before but didn't think I could reach them. So I'm very happy and proud of what I've done in the past year."
