Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that according to the Government's regulations on the holidays of April 30 and May 1 in 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4 and will swap the working day from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26.

Thus, the above holiday schedule also applies to the education sector in Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically, students and teachers in Ho Chi Minh City at all levels will start their holiday from April 30 to May 4, and return to school on Monday, May 5. This is considered the longest holiday of 2025 due to the combination of working days and 2 weekend days.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training recommends that schools proactively develop and adjust their school education plans appropriately to ensure the completion of the 2024-2025 school year program on schedule.

According to Thanh Nien reporters, from now until before the April 30 and May 1 holidays, schools will organize for students to complete the periodic tests at the end of the second semester. Especially for middle schools and high schools, after the end of the holiday, from May 5 when they return to school, they will spend time for final year students in grades 9 and 12 to enter the stage of reviewing for the grade 10 entrance exam and high school graduation exam.
