Artist Quang Teo fails to receive the title of People's Artist

The 10th conferment of the People's Artist and Meritorious Artist titles was carried out in accordance with Decree No. 89/2014 and Decree No. 40/2021. By December 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism had completed the final meeting of the 3 Council levels of the conferment awarding work.

The Ministry has also completed the dossier for considering the award of the title of People's Artist to 136 Meritorious Artists and considering the award of Meritorious Artist to 347 artists in the 10th consideration period to submit to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Central Emulation and Reward Committee in accordance with regulations.

Many artists were on the list submitted to the State Council but were not on the list signed by the President to receive awards in the first and second batches, including Meritorious Artist Quang Teo.

Meritorious Artist Quang Teo lacked 1 vote so he "failed" to be considered for the title of People's Artist.

It is known that the second round was considered on October 27, including artists whose profiles need more time to be studied specifically, for each case. For more information about this, a member of the State Council for considering the title of People's Artist also shared with VietNamNet that Meritorious Artist Quang Teo was missing 1 vote, so he "failed" to be considered for the title of People's Artist.

Meritorious Artist Quang Teo's real name is Nguyen Tien Quang, born in 1962 in Hanoi. The male artist worked at the Army Drama Theater until his retirement in 2015 and held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Artist Quang Teo and artist Giang Coi form a famous comedy duo. In 2012, Quang Teo was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.

Throughout his more than 40-year acting career, the image of artist Quang Teo's roles is often associated with farmers. Quang Teo is famous for being loved in comedy skits in Gala Cuoi.

At the age of 60, Quang Teo is still working hard on making movies.
