Polite, modest, a bit shy, but once on stage, under the lights, Lan Quynh and her voice burn “like a torch”. That is how many people feel about opera artist Lan Quynh (photo). Her love for art from the heart is an endless source of inspiration for her to immerse herself in the immortal melodies of chamber music.
Lan Quynh is lucky to possess a high female voice (Soprano), skillful vocal technique, so she can sing many genres of music well. Recently, Lan Quynh caused a stir on social networks with a series of songs in the primetime drama VTV Television 's Father's Gift . The songs she performed quickly received the love of the audience and reached more than 20 million views on TikTok, as well as bringing a huge amount of interaction for the female singer on her personal channels. However, Lan Quynh shared that only when singing opera can she return to her true self. For Lan Quynh, opera permeates every breath. That intense love is cared for and nurtured by her every day.
Lan Quynh was born in 1998 in Hung Yen, also known as one of the excellent students of Dr. - vocal lecturer Tan Nhan at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Under the guidance of her teacher and through hard training, Lan Quynh has transformed from a rough gem into a young artist highly appreciated by experts and loved by many audiences. She has just graduated with a Master's degree. This is something she is proud of after winning the first prize in the Chamber style of the 2022 National Sao Mai Competition. Remember, in the final ranking night, with the song Chim ha mi (Alabiev - Vietnamese lyrics: Trinh Minh Hien), Lan Quynh showed a beautiful, clear, sharp voice, a delicate, flexible way of handling the song and a professional performance style...
Despite being the champion, Lan Quynh still maintains her standard modesty, continues to practice and hone her vocal techniques and stage presence to bring the audience better quality and more refined music products in the future. "I will not rest on my laurels, because I know the path I am pursuing is long and full of challenges" - Lan Quynh expressed.
Pursuing a music genre that is quite selective of its audience, Lan Quynh admits that there are certain difficulties. “I am very sad because opera standards are being distorted. Partly because of the audience, partly because opera artists have to change to reach the majority. I have been pursuing opera for many years, there were times when the audience did not understand what I was singing. I still accepted and pursued it to the end,” she confided.
On September 19, Lan Quynh held a recital (solo, narrative performance) in a cozy space at the Vietnam National Academy of Music's concert hall. She hopes to bring classical music and opera closer to the public. The singer shared: "This is the first program I have done in my singing career that sells tickets. If the effect is good, I will do bigger live concerts. My music cannot be risky, but must grope and find an audience."
