Tomorrow (August 29), inauguration of 500kV line 3

Tomorrow morning (August 29), Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) will hold the inauguration ceremony of the 500kV line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen).

The inauguration ceremony was held in a combination of live and online formats with the main bridge taking place at the 500kV Pho Noi transformer station (Hung Yen) and connecting online to 8 bridges in 8 provinces where the project passes through.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the main bridge in Hung Yen province, along with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the bridge in Ha Tinh and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long at the bridge in Thanh Hoa.

Also attending the ceremony were leaders of relevant ministries, branches, agencies and leaders of provinces where the project passes. Provincial leaders at local connecting points will deliver welcoming speeches and share about the project's contributions to local development.

The 500kV line 3 project is an important part of the national energy infrastructure development plan. The completion of the project will help increase the power transmission capacity from the Central region to the North from 2,200MW to 5,000MW to solve the current difficult and urgent power supply problem for the North.

The 500kV line 3 circuit Quang Trach - Pho Noi project invested by EVNNPT, has a total investment of about 22,300 billion VND passing through 9 provinces, including 4 component projects.

With a total length of about 519 km, the project has a scale of 1,177 columns; of which, the tallest column is 145 m, the heaviest column weighs up to 415 tons, constructed in different harsh weather conditions such as cold rain, hot sun, storms, floods, thunderstorms, whirlwinds... and passing through many difficult terrains.

The project is of special importance to improve the capacity of connecting the North - Central - South transmission grid, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the North and ensuring national energy security.

According to EVN, normally a project with a scale similar to the 500kV line 3 project, investment preparation work often takes 2-3 years to start construction.

However, given the urgent and important nature of this project, the Prime Minister has directed strongly and requested ministries and branches to uphold the highest sense of responsibility, proactively take part and coordinate closely to quickly resolve procedures, documents and work related to the project according to assigned functions and tasks.

Therefore, ministries and branches have worked through the night and holidays so that in less than 5 months from the first submission, the investment policies of the projects have been approved.

* On August 28, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also directed relevant units and localities to coordinate and carefully prepare for the inauguration ceremony of the 500 kV line circuit 3 tomorrow.

To prepare for the inauguration ceremony of the project at Nghe An bridge, the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and related departments and branches to make more efforts and determination in completing all items and work contents according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

Any unit or locality that fails to complete its tasks and affects the progress and inauguration ceremony of the project section passing through the province shall bear full responsibility before the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to review the work to prepare well for the project inauguration ceremony. The Provincial Police Department presided over and coordinated with relevant units to develop a plan to ensure security, order, fire prevention and fighting... during the ceremony.

The People's Committee of Nam Dan district proactively coordinated with the Central Power Project Management Board and relevant agencies to inspect, review, and prepare necessary conditions to organize the project inauguration ceremony at the province's bridge point to ensure solemnity, thoughtfulness, and safety.

The 500 kV line 3 project is an important part of the national energy infrastructure development plan. In Nghe An province, 2 component projects are being implemented: The 500 kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu line project is about 82.33 km long. The 500 kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa line project in the province is about 17.5 km long. Up to now, the entire project has been energized and connected to ensure compliance with standards and safety.
