School leaders perform the incense offering ceremony at the ancestral altar.

According to Dr. Pham Huy Quang, Acting Principal of the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, as a tradition, August 12 (lunar calendar) every year becomes the death anniversary of the theater founder, attracting many artists, actors, and people working not only in the theater but also in cinema and art to come and offer incense, pay tribute to their ancestors, and promise themselves to strive to be more creative to produce more meaningful works and roles that are valuable to life.

For Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema - the leading university in the field of theatre in the South, the death anniversary of the theatre industry has become a cultural tradition passed down through the school's development periods. Unlike previous years, in addition to offering incense, remembering and showing gratitude to ancestors, there are also art and music performances, etc.; this year, although many art performances have been prepared, due to the storm and flood situation, the school has proactively cut down the festival part, organized it concisely, economically, and warmly to save time for calling on everyone to share with the people in the North.

"This year's ceremony to commemorate the founder of the theater profession of the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City was also held in a concise, economical and warm atmosphere of sharing. Everyone - artists, many generations of teachers and students - came to light incense sticks and pray at the altar, first to share with the people in the flooded areas, to show gratitude to the founder of the profession, and then to continue to contribute to the profession,... Among them was the meaningful activity of voluntarily donating to the people in the flooded areas of the northern provinces right in front of the altar of the founder of the profession.", Dr. Pham Huy Quang emphasized.

"This year, on the anniversary of the ancestors, in addition to the younger generation expressing gratitude to their predecessors, hoping that the ancestors will enlighten the path of artistic creation, hoping that famous artists will guide and support the younger generation to progress and develop together; this day is more meaningful than ever when we join hands to donate to flood victims in the northern provinces with more practical and meaningful actions than ever before.", People's Artist Kim Xuan shared about the meaning of this year's anniversary.

Representatives of the school's leaders through the years have participated in donating to our beloved Northern compatriots.

On the morning of September 14, during the theater founder's death anniversary, more than 50 million VND was donated by many generations of teachers and students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema to support people affected by natural disasters in the northern provinces during the recent storm No. 3 (Yagi). This amount (not including donations from staff and employees currently working at the school) will be collected and soon sent to the people in the northern flood-hit areas.

And on this year's theater ancestor's death anniversary, not only at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema but also many schools under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held this special ancestor's death anniversary in sharing with the people of the North. Many offerings and offerings were directed to the people in the flood-hit areas.
