TPO - Of the 582 candidates proposed for recognition as meeting the standards of professor and associate professor in 2024, there are 43 professor candidates, 539 associate professor candidates, but no candidate for the title of professor in the field of pharmacy.
According to the State Council of Professors in 2024, there is one candidate proposed for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor in the field of pharmacy. That is Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Hung, born in 1972, from An Noi commune, Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province, currently the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Drug Testing Institute.
In addition to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Hung, who is the only candidate proposed to be recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor, there are 11 other candidates proposed to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor in the field of pharmacy this year. However, although he is the only candidate proposed to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor in the field of pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Hung recently said that he has submitted a request to the State Council of Professors and the Council of Professors of Pharmacy to withdraw his application for the title of professor in 2024. Thus, up to now, the Pharmacy industry has no candidates for professor.
According to the announcement on October 8 of the State Council of Professors in 2024, initially 673 people were proposed to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards of professors and associate professors, a decrease of 22 people compared to last year. However, up to now, there are 582 candidates who have been proposed by the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary fields to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards of the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 compared to the number proposed by the Council of Professors of the institution. Of the 582 candidates, there are 43 professor candidates and 539 associate professor candidates (not including the two fields of Security Science and Military Science because the list was not made public). The two fields with the most candidates are Economics and Medicine. Of which, Economics leads with 108 people, including 6 professor candidates and 102 associate professors. Medicine has 6 professor candidates and 76 associate professors, a total of 82 people.
From October 21 to October 31, the State Council of Professors will meet to consider and recognize the qualifications for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2024. Previously in 2023, the State Council of Professors recognized the qualifications for the titles of professor and associate professor for 630 teachers, including 58 professors and 572 associate professors.
