According to Ms. Serene Ng - Chief Representative of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Vietnam, Vietnam has always been one of the country's most important markets in Southeast Asia. "In 2023, Vietnam will be in Singapore's top 10 markets, with about 458,000 visitors. In the first 5 months of 2024 alone, the island nation welcomed more than 155,000 Vietnamese visitors; and we expect this number to continue to grow as we enter the peak summer tourist season."
Ms. Serene Ng emphasized that Singapore looks forward to welcoming more tourists from Vietnam to explore a unique Singapore, with a special combination of creativity, cultural identity and hospitality. With a long-term commitment in Vietnam, STB will continue to work with industry partners, create quality tourism products and launch campaigns specifically for Vietnamese tourists.
“We are also developing a series of exciting projects that promise to enhance the travel experience for Vietnamese tourists… These tours and exchange cooperation not only benefit the tourism industry, but also contribute to encouraging cultural exchange and understanding between Vietnam and Singapore,” Ms. Serene Ng shared.
Last year, the global brand campaign "Made in Singapore" captured the attention of Vietnamese tourists by celebrating quintessential experiences in Singapore, from iconic attractions to little-known "hidden gems". At that time, STB in Vietnam collaborated with celebrities such as Gin and Puka, the Cam Cam family, Monsimi and Misoa... to share authentic experiences and interesting activities in Singapore with Vietnamese tourists.
To continue to maintain its competitive edge, STB is focusing on promotional plans that increase engagement with fans and visitors, while expanding its reach to reach more international visitors, including the Vietnamese market. Singapore has selected and developed a range of attractive tourism and lifestyle products to appeal to visitors with diverse interests and passions.
Recently, Singapore’s Clarke Quay has been transformed into a dynamic lifestyle hub with a dramatic transition from day to night, blending rich heritage with modern appeal. In addition, visitors’ anticipation and excitement for new exhibitions such as “The World of Studio Ghibli” and “Harry Potter: Visions of Magic” have added to the excitement, promising unique experiences. Mandai Wildlife Reserve will have many new activities to further expand the range of experiences and conserve wildlife sustainably.
From now until the end of the year, Singapore will host a series of exciting new entertainment events; from global pop culture shows, lifestyle events to mega-music festivals. Visitors can also look forward to popular year-end festivities such as "Christmas on A Great Street", "Christmas Wonderland" at Gardens by the Bay and the New Year Countdown event at Marina Bay Singapore. Singapore's music scene is also set to be exciting, with upcoming performances by Korean boy band BABYMONSTER, music superstar Jay Chou, "heavenly king" Andy Lau and singer Dua Lipa.
