The project will be co-funded by a grant from the PROBLUE trust fund in the amount of $3 million, according to the statement.
This project will support government efforts to strengthen institutional capacity for solid and plastic waste management, enhance private sector engagement in waste management services, and improve waste management fee systems, thereby improving environmental, financial, and social sustainability.
The project will also help Cambodian households gain greater access to conventional waste collection, said Maryam Salim, World Bank Country Director for Cambodia.
