Chinese Premier Li Qiang co-chaired the meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.
The statement said the two sides agreed to work together to optimize the trade structure, create new growth spearheads for the two countries' economies and bilateral trade turnover, and promote the development of e-commerce.
The two countries support holding the 9th China-Russia Expo in Russia in 2025 and the 5th China-Russia Inter-Regional Cooperation Forum within the framework of the expo.
"The two countries will work to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the Arctic, strengthen cooperation in the development of maritime transport, maritime safety, polar ship technology and construction. At the same time, they will encourage their enterprises to actively participate in Arctic shipping route cooperation based on market principles and pay special attention to protecting the Arctic ecosystem," the statement stressed.
In addition, the two countries will actively expand bilateral trade in the agricultural sector, expand access to agricultural products between the two countries, and promote the export of Moscow's processed meat products to Beijing as soon as possible.
In addition, Russia and China also agreed to support the world's leading emerging economies (BRICS) in cooperation on capacity building, joint research and global governance in the field of artificial intelligence.
