At the meeting organized by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province today (October 16), Ms. Truong Thi Kim Hue - Director of the Department of Education and Training - said that upon receiving feedback on the situation of overcharging from parents and on social networks, the Department quickly worked with the school to promptly handle the above information.

Since the beginning of the school year, the Department has issued many documents directing and correcting school fees. However, according to Ms. Hue, there are still some educational institutions that deliberately violate regulations.

"Yesterday, the Department of Education and Training worked with a local school on this issue and also requested to return the illegal fees," said Ms. Hue.

To rectify the situation of overcharging, the Department of Education and Training will invite heads of education departments and principals of high schools in the area to jointly develop plans and measures to overcome the problem. Schools must appoint the right representative to attend the meeting, not send someone to attend on their behalf.

“The Department of Education and Training requires principals to sign a commitment to comply with regulations on fees according to the industry’s guidelines. If there is any violation, the principal will be held responsible and cannot blame the Parents’ Representative Board,” Ms. Hue emphasized.
