Silent contributions

Recently, NESCAFÉ Plan was honored in the most prestigious category - "Award of the Year" of the Human Act Prize 2024, a worthy recognition for more than a decade of silent dedication.

The Community Action Award - a prestigious national award honoring individuals and organizations that have made positive contributions to society. The fact that the program surpassed hundreds of other outstanding projects to win the "Award of the Year" has affirmed the program's profound human values and wide influence.

People - The Heart of Change

By placing people at the center of all activities, the program has made positive impressions. In it, farmers are not only producers, but also subjects of change, directly managing resources and making appropriate farming decisions. The program has inspired the spirit of autonomy, helping them realize their important role in the global value chain.

The transition to regenerative coffee farming not only improves livelihoods and increases income for 21,000 farming households, but also contributes to building sustainable, environmentally friendly agriculture.

Behind the success of NESCAFÉ Plan is the dedication and support of Nestlé Vietnam's agricultural support staff. They are trusted companions, standing side by side with farmers from the first difficult days.

The success of the program is the result - the "sweet fruit" of more than a decade of attachment, working side by side, sharing hardships with farmers.

Agricultural officers persistently provide technical guidance, train in sustainable farming, support digital management tools, help farmers master technology, and improve coffee productivity and quality.

From green "seeds" to a sustainable future

NESCAFÉ Plan does not stop at supporting farming techniques, but also aims for a more sustainable future for the Vietnamese coffee industry.

The program focuses on guiding farmers to transition to regenerative agriculture practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect the environment and conserve biodiversity.

Furthermore, the program also focuses on women's empowerment and promoting gender equality through the female farmer group leader development program.

The Human Act Prize 2024 is a valuable recognition, affirming the program's tireless efforts in building a prosperous farming community and a green, sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, director of external affairs and communications of Nestlé Vietnam, shared: "We set out a mission to closely accompany coffee farmers to help them cope with increasingly severe climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve their livelihoods.

In particular, the program helps farmers understand that they are a sustainable link in the global value chain. Above all, the program will continue to expand to 2030 and beyond, for a prosperous Vietnam and a more sustainable planet."

The program's 14-year journey is a testament to the power of companionship and tireless efforts towards a common goal: to build a sustainable future for the Vietnamese coffee industry, where farmers are empowered, respected and enjoy the worthy fruits of their own coffee beans.

With a strategic vision and strong commitment, NESCAFÉ Plan promises to continue writing success stories, contributing to raising the level of Vietnamese coffee in the international arena and creating a sustainable future for the community.
