On the afternoon of October 27, a delegation of Nam Dinh province visited and worked with the French Employers' Groups Confederation (MEDEF) in Paris.
At the meeting, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, said that many foreign and French enterprises have come to Nam Dinh to invest in recent years, including major partners such as Quanta Computer Corporation and Toray Corporation.
These corporations choose Nam Dinh to invest because of its quick investment licensing procedures. As for Nam Dinh, investors are always considered “honorary citizens.”
Nam Dinh always cares and supports the quick settlement of investment procedures for foreign enterprises through the one-stop mechanism to ensure the shortest possible time and enterprises do not have to pay any service fees other than the regulations. Not only that, investors also enjoy preferential policies when meeting all conditions according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.
At the meeting, MEDEF expressed its interest and raised many questions related to legal procedures as well as difficulties that French enterprises may encounter when investing in the province.
All of these questions were thoroughly answered by Nam Dinh Provincial Secretary Pham Gia Tuc, who also called on MEDEF to promote investment and trade activities for French businesses in the locality.
Mr. François Corbin, Chairman of the French-Vietnamese Business Council (under MEDEF), said that MEDEF has had a long-standing relationship with Vietnam and he believes that many areas of cooperation between the two sides will be promoted and developed. He shared that French businesses are not only capable of working effectively with Vietnamese partners but also promoting economic exchanges between the two countries.
In the past, MEDEF regularly organized French business delegations to Vietnam and will increase such activities in the future.
Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang emphasized that the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation between France and Vietnam in general and Nam Dinh province in particular is huge. The Ambassador highly appreciated Mr. Corbin's sharing that MEDEF plans to lead leading French corporations to Vietnam early next year to explore the market and grasp the potential for cooperation and investment opportunities.
The Ambassador emphasized that Nam Dinh is one of the localities with high and impressive economic growth (reaching 9.07% in 2022); the provincial leadership is very dynamic and enthusiastic in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from international investors.
The Ambassador believes that Nam Dinh province will create all conditions and "roll out the red carpet" to welcome French businesses to invest in the coming time.
