TPO - Due to prolonged rain affecting the construction progress, the Nam Ly Bridge project (Thu Duc City) and the HC2 underpass - part of the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection underpass project (District 7) had to postpone the opening to traffic until the end of September.
On September 10, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board, investor) said that due to the impact of prolonged rainy weather, the construction of the Nam Ly Bridge project (Thu Duc City) and the HC2 underpass - part of the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection underpass project (District 7) was affected and had to delay the opening time.
Specifically, the Nam Ly Bridge project is targeted to open to traffic on September 15. However, prolonged rain in late August and early September in Ho Chi Minh City has affected the project's construction progress.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that the asphalt paving work for the bridge's connecting road was delayed due to the weather, so the project is expected to be completed around September 23.

Currently, the Traffic Department has reported on the progress of the Nam Ly Bridge project to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, and the traffic diversion plan for the end of September. After being approved by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the traffic opening will be carried out as planned.
Similarly, the HC2 underpass - part of the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection underpass project - was also targeted to open to traffic on September 15. However, due to the prolonged rain, the asphalt paving work for this project has been affected. Therefore, the opening time of this underpass branch will have to be postponed to the end of September.
After the Nguyen Van Linh underpass project opens to traffic, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department will organize traffic flow from Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone through the underpass to National Highway 1. Cars on Nguyen Huu Tho Street to District 7 and Nha Be will turn around at the newly designed location instead of the current opening.
From Nha Be to District 7, vehicles still follow the old route, turning around at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Phan Chanh or Nguyen Van Linh - Pham Van Nghi.
In addition to the HC2 underpass branch that will open to traffic at the end of September, the remaining underpass branch of the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection underpass project is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of this year.
