On February 12, the Executive Committee of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee agreed to let Mr. Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, resign as desired.
The 23rd session of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Executive Committee discussed the content of the Project to arrange and streamline the apparatus and staff according to Resolution 18.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, said: The Provincial Party Committee has just received the resignation letter of Mr. Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, with the reason for resignation for medical treatment.
Based on regulations and considering personal wishes, the Executive Committee of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee has unanimously decided to let Mr. Lo Van Tien resign according to his wishes.
At the meeting, Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee also highly agreed with the Project to rearrange agencies and units in the province's political system.
After streamlining the apparatus, the Party agencies, unions, public service units at the provincial level, and the district-level Party Committees reduced 2 committees (provincial level); reduced 13 departments and equivalents; increased 1 grassroots Party Committee under the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee (of which the provincial level reduced 2 committees, 7 departments and equivalents; the district level increased 1 Party Committee, reduced 6 departments and equivalents).
Regarding the arrangement of professional agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and units under professional agencies: After the arrangement, there are 14 professional agencies under the Provincial People's Committee (reduced by 5 agencies); 83 departments (reduced by 34 departments); 7 branches and equivalents (reduced by 3 branches due to the reduction of 4 branches and the reception of the Market Management Department from the Ministry of Industry and Trade), 31 departments and equivalents under branches (reduced by 4 departments); 70 public service units under the professional agencies of the Provincial People's Committee; (reduced by 27 public service units including the number of medical centers transferred from the Department of Health to the District People's Committee); increased by 2 public service units under the Provincial People's Committee (Dien Bien Phu University and the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion).
For specialized agencies under the People's Committee at the district level, there are 10 departments and equivalents; of which the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is only organized in 8 districts because it is not organized in Muong Lay town and Dien Bien Phu city.
