(NLDO) - In the deposit interest rate market, while many banks are still following the upward trend, some units are adjusting their rates downward.
Bank interest rates on December 10 recorded many notable fluctuations. Among them, DongABank continued to join the group of banks increasing interest rates in December.
According to the new interest rate schedule, the interest rate for 1-2 month terms at DongABank is 4.1%/year, for 3-5 month terms is 4.3%/year, and for 6-8 month terms is 5.55%/year. The highest interest rate at DongABank is 6.1%/year for terms of 18 months or more. The interest rate increase for terms under 6 months is 0.2 percentage points.
VIB has also just adjusted interest rates up, with 1-month term at 3.5%/year and 6-9-month term at 4.7%/year - a maximum increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to before.
Interest rates for deposits of 6 months or less at Bac A Bank
On the contrary, BacABank adjusted the interest rate down for some terms. Specifically, the interest rate for 1-month term decreased to 3.7%/year, down 0.15 percentage points, while other terms decreased from 0.1 to 0.15 percentage points. The highest interest rate at BacABank is 5.95%/year for terms of 18 months or more.
According to statistics from MBS Securities Company, after 2 months of stagnation, deposit interest rates have started to increase since November by 0.1 to 0.7 percentage points at 16 banks, including Agribank, Techcombank and MB. This upward trend is expected to last until the end of the year, in the context of credit growth as of November 22 reaching 11.12% compared to the end of last year - nearly double the growth rate of capital mobilization.
Notably, the average 12-month deposit interest rate of commercial banks by the end of November reached 5%, up 0.14 percentage points compared to the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, interest rates at state-owned commercial banks remained at 4.7%, 0.26 percentage points lower than the beginning of the year.
