From Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat is especially intense with temperatures ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, and in some places over 39 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity is 50-65%.
The meteorological agency said that the heat wave in the midlands and the Northern Delta is likely to last until about June 21. In the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat wave will last until about June 24; from June 25, the heat wave is likely to gradually decrease.
During hot days, in the late afternoon in the North and mountainous areas of the Central region, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Specifically, today (June 19), in the Northern region, there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-50mm, some places over 80mm. Rain will be concentrated in the late afternoon and at night.
In addition, the Central Highlands and the South also had rain of 20-40mm, in some places over 70mm, concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
