North-South Expressway opens through Ha Tinh: The result of development aspirations!

On the morning of April 19, 80 projects and works were simultaneously started and inaugurated nationwide. Of these, Ha Tinh "contributed" with 2 component projects of the North - South expressway in the East phase 2021 - 2025, including the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi route and the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang route, which were technically opened to traffic. This is an important event towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van; Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung; Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duy Lam and delegates performed the technical traffic opening ceremony at two expressways passing through Ha Tinh.

The ceremony was held solemnly, briefly but full of emotion. The ceremony ended but engineer Nguyen Cong Quynh - Deputy Commander of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) - one of the two contractors of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway as well as many workers were still excited and proud. "We are truly happy and joyful that after dozens of months of "sun and rain", we have contributed to the completion of the traffic infrastructure, completed the key project, created the foundation for the development of the country and is a meaningful gift towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification" - engineer Quynh excitedly said.

Sharing the same joy, Major Tran Dinh Ngan - Commander of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway project of the contractor Corporation 319 ( Ministry of National Defense ), who has been associated with the North - South expressway project through Ha Tinh since the first days of construction, could not help but be moved. Major Ngan shared: “The project was completed 6 months ahead of schedule to simultaneously hold inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies along with dozens of other projects across the country, making our joy multiply. Witnessing the moment of cutting the ribbon to open the road, witnessing the joy on the faces of each delegate and the people, all the hardships and fatigue from so long ago disappeared. During the project implementation, the unit received enthusiastic support and assistance from the Party Committee, the government and the people of Ha Tinh province. Hereby, on behalf of the unit, I would like to express my gratitude to the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the departments, localities and especially the people for their consensus and support so that the project could be completed ahead of schedule”.

After dozens of months of "sun and rain", the workers and engineers are now all smiles as the project is technically completed and open to traffic.

The opening ceremony on the morning of April 19 was held at the QL8A intersection (Km479+300) in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district and connected online with connecting points nationwide. Although there was no opportunity to attend the ceremony in person, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam - (Duc Tho town) as well as many local people put aside their work to watch the solemn ceremony on TV.

Mr. Tam excitedly said: “The expressway was completed earlier than expected, which makes us very happy. From now on, the distance will be shortened, traffic will be more convenient, creating more development opportunities. We can be proud that Ha Tinh is increasingly developing with a well-invested, synchronous, and quality infrastructure system. We also hope that after the technical opening ceremony, the construction units will continue to complete the remaining items so that people can soon travel on a beautiful, modern road.”

The first trains were tested on the highway at the technical opening ceremony.

The two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, 35.28km long, and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, 54.2km long, were technically opened to traffic and put into operation as main routes, helping to reduce traffic pressure and open up new space and development momentum for localities where these key traffic routes pass through.

Vice Chairman of Cam Xuyen District People's Committee Pham Hoang Anh shared: "The continuous increase in road vehicles in recent years has caused many concerns about traffic on National Highway 1. This not only causes traffic disorder and safety but also affects the local investment attraction. To limit this situation, the locality has been investing in traffic infrastructure, which will create favorable conditions for people to travel, help connect trade easily, and open up new opportunities for socio-economic development of the district."

The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of key national projects and major works simultaneously in all three regions of the North - Central - South took place on the morning of April 19 at the Ha Tinh bridge.

The technical opening ceremony marks an important step before the official operation. Giving the order to start construction and inaugurate the works and projects on the morning of April 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the projects started and inaugurated today are important projects, demonstrating the determination in creating a new development space, creating a foundation for the country's socio-economic development, having strategic significance in realizing the policies of the Party and State; at the same time, they are the results and evidence of the development aspirations, demonstrating the will and determination of the Party, State and our people.

With that important meaning, construction units and investors continue to focus on mobilizing equipment and human resources to implement works and projects, ensuring quality and promoting investment efficiency. And with the two routes Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, construction units will continue to complete the final items to put into circulation and operate effectively with the expectation that together with the national highway and local road systems, a seamless network will be formed, promoting economic growth for Ha Tinh in particular and provinces and cities in the country in general.
