Microsoft has announced the launch of Microsoft Copilot, an AI assistant designed to help users interact with technology and improve productivity. This AI solution will be available for free on Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Edge, and Bing.
Accordingly, Microsoft's AI features have been consolidated into a single experience called Microsoft Copilot, the everyday AI assistant.
Copilot automatically combines information from the web, work data, and tasks users are performing on their PCs to provide better support, while ensuring security and privacy.
Users can use the Copilot assistant as an app that pops up when needed, with just a right-click. The first version of Copilot will start appearing in the next update of Windows 11, starting September 26, 2023.
The next update to Windows 11 will add more than 150 new features that make complex tasks simple. These include new AI-optimized features in Paint and Photos, Clipchamp, Notepad, an improved File Explorer, and Narrator with new natural voices for improved recognition and performance. These improvements will make Windows the destination for the best AI experiences.
The Edge browser and Bing search engine are also getting a bunch of new AI features. New features include personalized responses based on chat history, an improved OpenAI DALL.E 3 model in Bing Image Creator, and the use of cryptography to add a digital signature to all AI-generated images in Bing, along with the time of creation.
Microsoft also announced a number of new experiences and devices to help you get more done, including new Surface devices with AI enhancements.
