On the afternoon of August 7, a representative of the Hanoi MRB Board said that from 8:00 a.m. on August 8, 2024, the elevated section of the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro line (from Nhon S1 station to Cau Giay S8 station, 8.5 km long) will be commercially operated to serve passengers.
The elevated section includes 8 stations: Nhon (S1); Minh Khai (S2); Phu Dien (S3); Cau Dien (S4); Le Duc Tho (S5); National University (S6); Chua Ha (S7); Cau Giay (S8).
In the first 3 months, the route opens at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., with trains running every 10 minutes. On the first day of opening, the route starts at 8 a.m. In the following period, depending on passenger demand, appropriate adjustments will be made to best meet passenger travel needs.
Regarding ticket prices, a one-way ticket (trip ticket) for one station is 8,000 VND/trip, and a whole route is 12,000 VND/trip. A daily ticket, 24,000 VND, is valid for one day and has no limit on the number of trips. A monthly ticket (general, priority) is 200,000 VND/month, with priority for students being 100,000 VND/month. A group ticket is 140,000 VND/month.
In particular, during the first 15 days of commercial operation, passengers will be served free of charge according to the Resolution of the Hanoi People's Council.
The Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro Line is a radial route, running from the outskirts of the capital to the inner city. When put into operation, it will help Hanoi traffic reduce pressure on vehicles and bus routes on the same route. The plan to increase connectivity and passenger transfer by bus has also been completed by the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center.
