The above information is updated in the operation plan of Metro Line No. 1 of Urban Railway Company No. 1 (MAUR). There will be 7 3-car trains departing from the beginning of July 2024 out of a total of 17 trains.
In the initial phase, trains run every 8-10 minutes.
In phase 2 (from early October to December 31), 12 3-car trains will operate. Each train will be spaced approximately 6-8 minutes apart. Trains will run from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Ho Chi Minh City residents are very excited that the metro train will soon be put into operation.
On Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and Tet, increase the number of trains with similar operating hours.
Phase 3 (from January 1, 2025 onwards), metro line 1 will operate at its original design capacity, with all 17 trains running. The operational plan for this phase is determined based on the actual operating situation in 2024.
The interval between trips during peak hours is 4-5 minutes/trip during peak hours and 8 trips/minute during normal hours.
According to MAUR, the metro line 1 project is currently 97% complete. Previously, the Prime Minister issued a decision approving the adjustment of the investment policy for the metro line 1 project, postponing the completion date of this line to the end of the fourth quarter of 2023 with a commitment to not incur additional costs.
Recently, the investor of metro line No. 1 once again proposed to the City People's Committee to postpone the commercial operation time until the fourth quarter of 2024.
Metro Line 1 is 19.7km long, including 2.6km underground and 17.1km elevated; the route passes through District 1, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc City (HCMC) and Di An (Binh Duong). The total investment of the project after adjustment is 43,700 billion VND.
Metro Line 1 has 3 underground stations: Ben Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City Theater, Ba Son, 11 elevated stations: Van Thanh, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High-Tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Suoi Tien Bus Station.
