Reports said the plane was being transported on a truck trailer. However, it was unable to pass under the low bridge and got stuck. Upon hearing about the bizarre incident, locals rushed to the area and started taking selfies even as police and other officials arrived at the scene to untangle the plane from under the Piprakothi bridge.
During the attempt to rescue the aircraft, the trailer's tires were deflated and the aircraft was subsequently freed from under the bridge.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened in India. A similar incident occurred in November 2022 when a plane got stuck under a tunnel in Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh. The plane was being transported from Kochi to Hyderabad on a tow truck when it got stuck in the Korisapadu tunnel.
A video of the incident went viral on social media at the time, showing the plane stuck in the Korisapadu tunnel as stunned locals watched and took photos. The incident caused major traffic congestion in the area.
Reports at the time said the old plane was bought by the owner of Pista House and was being transported from Kochi to Hyderabad on a truck when it got stuck.
