Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City spoke out about the city ranking 20th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of 2024 high school graduation exam scores.
For 8 consecutive years, Ho Chi Minh City ranked first in English exam scores.
Ho Chi Minh City has an average English score of 6.73, a slight decrease but still leading the country, while Hanoi has dropped in rank. The 10 localities leading the average English score nationwide are all familiar names. The two leading positions still belong to Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong with 6.73 and 6.65 points respectively, a slight decrease compared to last year. With this result, Ho Chi Minh City has ranked first nationwide in the high school graduation exam score for English for the 8th consecutive year.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Hanoi ranked 3rd and 4th respectively, swapping positions from last year. The remaining names in the top 10 include Da Nang, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh. Candidates from these provinces all had an average English score of 5.83 or higher.
Of the 906,500 candidates taking the English exam for high school graduation this year, 565 achieved perfect scores, 145 received failing scores (1 or lower).
Nearly 42.7% of the exams were below average, down about 2% from last year. The average score achieved by candidates was 5.51, about 0.06 points higher than last year.
Hanoi is not in the top 10 provinces and cities with average math scores.
Among the 10 provinces and cities leading in average math scores in the 2024 high school graduation exam, Nam Dinh is at the top, and Hai Phong is at the bottom of the list.
This year's list does not include Hanoi but includes some localities such as: Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong...
Specifically, the 10 provinces and cities leading in the average Math score of the 2024 high school graduation exam include: Nam Dinh, Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hai Phong.
Vinh Phuc tops the list of exam scores for block C
According to the analysis of high school graduation exam scores announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, statistics of provinces and cities with the highest average score of group C00 in the country, this year, Vinh Phuc continues to lead in the average score of group C00 at 23.42 points, nearly 2 points higher than last year.
The 2nd and 3rd positions continue to remain the same, including Ninh Binh (23.4) and Nam Dinh (23.08). The top 5 localities with the highest average score for block C00 also include Phu Tho and Bac Ninh.
