Gojek cooperates with Dat Bike to pilot passenger transport, delivery, and food services using electric motorbikes in Vietnam.

After signing a cooperation agreement with Dat Bike, Gojek officially launched the Weaver++ line of this Vietnamese electric motorbike brand to serve passenger transport (GoRide), food delivery (GoFood) and delivery (GoSend) services.

Test driving the latest Weaver++ from Dat Bike, Gojek driver partners said they were excited by the unique, individual design of this electric motorbike model.

Reduce fuel costs

For driver Tran Anh Tuan (30 years old), this was the first time he had driven an electric motorbike. After the training and test drive, Mr. Tuan commented that the motorbike operated quite easily, smoothly, without much noise and vibration like a motorbike running on gasoline.

"I see many benefits of driving an electric motorbike. First of all, it saves fuel costs for the driver, I no longer have to worry about the price of fuel going up and down. Not to mention, electric motorbikes also help protect the environment," said Mr. Tuan.

Meanwhile, driver Bui Le Hung (38 years old), who has been driving for Gojek for more than 2 years, said he appreciates many strengths of Dat Bike. He shared: "Electric vehicles can significantly save fuel costs for drivers. In the past, I also tried driving my friends' electric vehicles but felt hesitant due to limited models and scarce charging stations. However, with the model supported by Gojek, I felt like it from the first time I tried it."

The attraction for this driver comes from the car's "different, individual, strong and unique design". According to him, this car model can also be easily charged anywhere, suitable for the nature of the work of a technology car driver.

As a veteran technology driver who has been driving Gojek for 5 years, Mr. Pham Van Truc (30 years old) was excited to try his hand at "working" with an electric motorbike. He said: "Using an electric motorbike to pick up and drop off passengers is quite new to my job, giving us a new experience. Recently, fuel costs have been a headache for many drivers, so when I hear about electric motorbikes, I feel it's economical. Normally, I spend more than 100,000 VND on gas a day. If I drive an electric motorbike, it will be much more economical."

According to information from Gojek, using Dat Bike Weaver++ electric vehicles can help Gojek driver partners reduce fuel costs by more than 4 times compared to gasoline vehicles, thereby significantly saving operating costs.

Dat Bike Weaver++ has a maximum speed of 90 km per hour, with a range of 200 km for each full charge in 3 hours. Charging is also simple as driver partners can charge the battery for free at dozens of community charging points. The vehicle is equipped with a fast charging port so that the first 100 km can be quickly charged in 1 hour at any household power outlet and in just 20 minutes at a Dat Charge fast charging station. These factors are considered suitable for the daily activities of a technology car driver partner.

Reducing urban emissions with affordable services

According to a representative from Gojek, bringing electric motorbikes to serve the needs of users, in addition to helping reduce operating costs for driver partners, is also an effort of the company to provide users with convenient and environmentally friendly services at reasonable prices. During the pilot phase, Gojek users when using services on the application may accidentally be served by a Gojek driver using a Weaver++ car, at the same price, so this is a completely random experience for users. Many customers after receiving this surprise have left 5-star reviews on the Gojek application. Electric motorbikes are considered an essential part of the process of improving the living environment because they are noiseless and have no emissions.

Mr. Sumit Rathor, General Director of Gojek Vietnam, said: "Vietnam is an important market for Gojek. Our goal is to continue to bring effective solutions to users, support the sustainable growth of our partners, and provide quality and convenient service experiences at reasonable prices. These meaningful partnerships benefit the entire ecosystem, bringing greater value to all users, while creating a positive impact on the communities where we operate."

Mr. Sumit added that this project is in line with GoTo Group's "Three Zero by 2023" commitment, and is an important step in Gojek's journey to reduce emissions as well as its efforts to convert its fleet to 100% electric vehicles.

"The cooperation project between Gojek and Dat Bike not only brings a quality travel experience at an economical price, but also contributes to reducing air pollution, limiting noise pollution, promoting the transition to green vehicles for a sustainable community and a cleaner environment," said a Gojek representative.
