MIC advances compensation payments for more than 900 losses caused by Typhoon Yagi

Faced with the severe damage caused by super typhoon Yagi, the Military Insurance Corporation (MIC) is urgently making provisional compensation payments to customers with a preliminary estimate of more than 230 billion VND.

Preliminary statistics up to September 11, MIC recorded more than 900 losses including property, motor vehicle and maritime operations, with an estimated total compensation of VND230 billion. Currently, the data is still being updated.

According to MIC's assessment, the amount of loss caused by storm No. 3 Yagi is a huge loss due to natural disasters for the Vietnamese insurance industry in general and MIC in particular. MIC is committed to working with customers to overcome losses, fully reserve compensation and will ensure maximum benefits for customers in the fastest time.

In localities directly affected by storms and floods, MIC staff are always available 24/7 to receive and guide customers in handling losses.

MIC's team of surveyors is increasing the maximum number in localities where customers are affected by Storm No. 3 and making efforts to be on duty 24/7 with customers in overcoming losses after the storm. Statistics, survey and compensation for customers are being urgently directed to quickly support and compensate customers to reduce difficulties, quickly stabilize production, business and daily life is the top priority.

Given the complicated developments of storms and floods, MIC also reminds customers that immediately after an incident occurs, they should notify MIC via hotline, email, or the Company's official communication channels, providing information such as: Location of the incident, photos of the initial damage scene (if any) and a brief description of the damage. Military Insurance's surveyors will approach the scene to exchange and share information, check and assess the loss, and at the same time, guide customers to provide documents for quick advance payment and compensation in accordance with regulations.

Viettel Post opens subsidiary in Laos

The Board of Directors of Viettel Post Corporation (Viettel Post) has approved the establishment of a subsidiary in Laos.

The subsidiary, named Viettel Post Laos Company Limited, will operate in the fields of delivery, warehousing services, domestic and international freight transport, trade in goods and services, e-commerce, import and export, and freight forwarding services in Laos.

Viettel Post will invest more than 136 billion VND, equivalent to 5.34 million USD, accounting for 100% of Viettel Post Laos' charter capital.

In early 2024, Viettel Post's leaders revealed plans to expand the market to Laos and open a representative office in Thailand. GSM and Mai Linh cooperate to establish a car repair chain

GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company and Mekong Green Trading Joint Stock Company (a subsidiary of Mai Linh Group ecosystem) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to establish a chain of large-scale car repair and maintenance service workshops, the leading one in Vietnam.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate to establish a new joint venture with the brand name “MeKong Xanh SM” to build and operate a chain of auto repair and maintenance service workshops nationwide.

GSM Green and Smart Mobility JSC and Mekong Green Trading JSC will establish the joint venture “MeKong Xanh SM”.

The workshops will repair and maintain both gasoline and electric vehicles of Xanh SM, Mai Linh, franchise partners and individual partners participating in the Xanh SM Platform, Mekong Green partners, as well as all VinFast-branded vehicles nationwide.

In the first phase, GSM and Mekong Green will convert 39 existing Mekong Green service workshops to the new brand “MeKong Xanh SM” and operate under the new model. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the two sides will cooperate to open 60 new workshops nationwide, bringing the total scale to 99 workshops, thereby making “MeKong Xanh SM” the leading large-scale auto repair system in Vietnam.

In particular, these 99 workshops will join VinFast's existing network of service workshops (more than 80 workshops) nationwide, meeting customers' repair and maintenance needs in the fastest and most convenient way.

Mekong Green belongs to the ecosystem of Mai Linh Group. This is the exclusive warranty and maintenance center for the entire Mai Linh taxi system, and specializes in providing equipment, supplies, and repair and maintenance services for any customer in need.

On GSM's side, up to now, Xanh SM and its partners have brought electric vehicles to 55 provinces and cities, aiming to "green" Vietnam and make electric vehicles a familiar and community-friendly form of transportation.

Dong Tam Group brings CS Wind from Korea to Long An to make wind power equipment

Dong Tam Group and CS Wind Group (CS Wind) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

According to the cooperation agreement, Dong Tam Group and its member units will lease 50 hectares of industrial land and industrial services to CS Wind Vietnam to build a factory and assembly yard for offshore and onshore wind tower equipment, wind power products such as monopiles, transition equipment, etc. and supply them to the global market.

In particular, 100% of equipment and accessories in the first phase are imported and exported through Long An International Port, estimated at 150,000 to 200,000 tons/year.

Dat Bike receives $4 million loan

Dat Bike has announced that it has received a convertible loan worth 4 million USD from InfraCo Asia - a member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG, UK).

Dat Bike has raised more than $25 million in funding from investors.

The $4 million loan from InfraCo Asia is expected to help Dat Bike bring more than 30,000 electric motorbikes to market over the next two years, with the potential to reduce nearly 26,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

From this loan, Dat Bike expects to create 30 short-term jobs and 29 long-term jobs, with a focus on gender diversity, with 24% of these positions expected to be filled by female employees.

Dat Bike has the ambition to become the leading Vietnamese manufacturer in the journey to "green" the $25 billion two-wheeled vehicle market in Southeast Asia.

PIDG is an innovative infrastructure development and financing organization that promotes and mobilizes private investment in pioneering infrastructure projects in Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia, to support economic development and fight poverty.

Meanwhile, InfraCo Asia has had many activities in Vietnam, buying Coc San Hydropower Plant in 2012, building a 168MWp solar power plant in Ninh Thuan province, investing in 4 clean water projects for 4 second-tier cities in Vietnam.

With a loan from InfraCo Asia, the Vietnamese electric motorbike startup hopes to double its capacity, through expanding facilities, tools, and automation.
