N POPULAR ADMISSION METHODS
At the program, Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Business Relations of the University of Finance - Marketing, gave some notes for students as this is the first year of graduation exams for students studying the 2018 General Education Program and universities have many adjustments to their admission plans.
According to Master Phung, there are 5 common methods that universities often use to enroll students: direct admission, considering academic records, considering competency assessment test scores, considering high school graduation exam scores, and combining several scores such as academic records with graduation exam scores, graduation exam scores with aptitude scores...
Regarding the method of considering academic records, Master Phung noted that in previous years, candidates could use the scores of grades 10, 11 and semester 1 of grade 12; but this year, the Ministry of Education and Training requires using the scores of the entire year of grade 12. Regarding the admission combination, according to the draft, schools are allowed to open many different combinations and the candidate's priority score will not exceed 10% of the total score of the 3 subjects in the combination.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES OF TRENDING MAJORS
Bao Han, a 12A1 student at An Nhon High School No. 2, was the first to ask a question for the program. Han wondered: "What will be the demand for human resources related to the fields of economics, law, and administration in the coming time? In recent years, there have been a number of new fields such as financial technology, digital economy, etc. Are they the trends of the future labor market? What are the new majors in this field that the school is currently studying?"
Answering this question, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Khanh Nam, Principal of the School of Economics, Law and Public Administration, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH), said that these majors will be in very high demand in the coming time.
"The government has set a target of 8-10% economic growth in the next 5-10 years, so the demand for human resources in this field is increasing. Currently, the training trend is to integrate technology into economics, management and business administration, so many new industries are emerging such as digital economy and digital finance. In addition, businesses are also very interested in sustainable development, environmental protection, and community orientation," Associate Professor, Dr. Khanh Nam informed.
Also interested in trending majors, Do Van Loc, class 12A2, An Nhon High School No. 1, asked: "Which majors in information technology are currently trending and have high job opportunities? Which majors are suitable for women? Is the artificial intelligence (AI) major more inclined towards research theory or practice?"
Master Hoang Thanh Tu, Deputy Head of Information and Communication Department, University of Science (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that any job that men can do, women can also do, the important thing is whether they have enough passion and ability or not.
"Information technology majors have a strong impact on all fields and will continue to be trending majors in the future, such as AI, information security, software engineering, machine learning... Students who want to study well need to have a good foundation in mathematics," Master Tu noted.

THE ROLE OF AI IN THE DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE INDUSTRIES
Continuing to be interested in the impact of AI, Thuy Tram, class 12A3, An Nhon High School No. 1, shared: "When AI develops and can create works of art or technical sketches, what role does aesthetic talent play when studying graphic design, architecture...?".
Dr. Huynh Thanh Trang, Head of the Department of Design and Communication, Pacific University, said that graphic design is a current trending field with 40% of the program students will study, practice, and intern in businesses. Dr. Trang affirmed: "AI is a tool to help students work faster and more effectively, but cannot replace learners and workers in terms of creativity, uniqueness, artistry...".
Meanwhile, a student from Nguyen Truong To High School expressed interest in the financial technology industry when asking: "What do you study in the financial technology industry and how is the admission process?"
Ms. Ngo Thi Xuan, Deputy Head of Admissions - Communications Department, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, informed: "Financial technology was previously a major of banking and finance. With the development of technology, the school separated into a separate major. This is a potential and trending major, equipped with 2 knowledge volumes including technology (70%) and banking and finance (30%). Students will learn knowledge about AI, big data, programming, finance...".
