(Dan Tri) - The Department of Education and Training requires private schools not to enroll in grades 1 and 6 before the time specified by the Department.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued guidelines for enrollment in kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year.

In this guidance document, the Department clearly stipulates the enrollment of private schools.

Accordingly, schools will base on their facilities and staff and teachers to propose the Department of Education and Training to advise the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to approve the enrollment quota for the school.

Schools must publicly post admission procedures, rights and obligations of students and parents before carrying out admission procedures for students.

The time for private schools to enroll students is right after the end of the school year, which is from May 31 to July 12. The Department requires schools to absolutely not enroll students before this specified time.

For schools that conduct admission through a combination of testing and assessment of capacity, the latest time to choose for testing and assessment is June 30.

For public grade 1 and grade 6 enrollment in the entire city, the Department requires that enrollment zoning and enrollment quota assignment must be appropriate to the physical facilities and ensure enough places for students.

New urban areas without schools need to have measures to solve the problem of school places for students and promote the construction of new schools.

The subjects that need attention are children of resettled households due to land clearance and children of workers in industrial parks.

The Department also requires limiting students from going to schools with too many classes.

If the number of students per class exceeds the regulations of the School Charter, the Department of Education and Training must report to the District People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training to avoid student overload.

Another noteworthy point is that this year's primary school admission season must implement "5 clarifications" including: clear admission routes, clear admission quotas, clear admission times, clear admission methods, and clear responsibilities in admission work.

High-quality secondary schools with a number of registered students exceeding the quota will be selected based on criteria using learning outcomes, primary school training results, or student capacity assessment results in the following forms: question-answer, writing, presentation, etc.

The latest deadline for completing enrollment for these schools is July 12.
