Heavy rain upstream caused floods on rivers in Thua Thien - Hue to rise rapidly. The Department of Education and Training issued a document allowing students to stay home from school to ensure safety.


On the morning of November 25, the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province urgently notified relevant agencies, local leaders and people about the flood situation in the area.

According to information from the provincial hydrometeorological station, floods on rivers in Thua Thien - Hue are rising rapidly. At 5:00 a.m. on November 25, the water level of the Huong River at Kim Long station was at 2.88 m (0.62 m below alert level 3), and the Bo River at Phu Oc was at 3.65 m (0.65 m above alert level 2).

Floods on the Huong River are rising rapidly.

At 6am, heavy rain was still occurring in the upper reaches of the Huong River and the Bo River. Heavy rain will continue to cause flooding and waterlogging in the downstream areas and there is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

According to forecasts, today, November 25, water levels on rivers will continue to rise, flood peaks on Huong River and Bo River may reach and exceed alert level 3, with the risk of widespread flooding in downstream areas...

To ensure the safety of students and teachers, the Department of Education and Training has announced that students in the whole province will be off school on November 25.

According to Thanh Nien reporters, in Hue City, many people are rushing to move their cars to high places to avoid the flood. Many inter-commune roads in low-lying areas such as Quang Dien and Phu Vang have begun to flood; authorities have barricaded both sides to ensure safety.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thua Thien - Hue province requested localities and people to proactively deploy response plans and regularly monitor flood and rain situation news to proactively prevent.
