Being the confluence of the Vam Co Dong River and the Nhut Tao River, Vam Nhut Tao is the place that marked the resounding victory of burning the French ship of the national hero Nguyen Trung Truc. This was the first and only time in the armed movement against the French in the late 19th century that the insurgents sank an enemy warship. The victory of "the red fire of Nhut Tao" is also a testament to the bravery, intelligence and resourcefulness of the insurgents who, with only rudimentary weapons, defeated the enemy's large ships and guns. Because of these meanings, Vam Nhut Tao was ranked as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1996. The entire relic site is located in An Nhut Tan commune, Tan Tru district, Long An province with an area of 6.1 hectares, total cost of more than 50 billion, started construction in 2003 and inaugurated in October 2010 with main items: stele house, memorial temple, exhibition house, green park,...
