On March 26, Vingroup Corporation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hau Nghia - Duc Hoa new urban area project in Duc Hoa district, Long An.
The project, named Vinhomes Green City by the group, was approved for investment on an area of 197.2 hectares, located in Hau Nghia town, Duc Lap Thuong commune and Tan My commune.
With a total estimated investment of over VND 28,000 billion and a population of about 40,000, this project is located in the planning of the urban and industrial area, in the economic corridor following the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 and in the important economic driving force of Long An province, connecting with the Southeast region - Ho Chi Minh City, Long Thanh International Airport, Long An port.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup Corporation - said that the project will be designed with many open traffic axes and a commercial complex of up to 9.6 hectares right inside the area.
Initially shaping a vibrant commercial center on the urban economic corridor axis in the Northwest of Ho Chi Minh City.

“We believe that the first complex urban area in the Vingroup ecosystem in Long An - Vinhomes Green City will not only create a new, modern living standard for residents but also create an important push to attract businesses, investors, experts and high-quality workers,” said Mr. Quang.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - also said that the project will help form a large-scale new urban development area with unique highlight works, which can create major changes in architectural space and landscape for the area, creating a difference and increasing competitiveness with other urban areas.
“Since the beginning of the year, Long An has started many important traffic and urban projects to connect with the Southeast region and Ho Chi Minh City. Today’s groundbreaking ceremony of the Vingroup project is another testament to the development momentum and geographical importance of Long An,” Mr. Ut added.
In Long An, the Vinhomes - VIG joint venture has also been approved in principle to implement the Phuoc Vinh Tay new urban area project in Can Giuoc district. This project has an area of 1,089.6 hectares, with a total estimated investment of VND90,757 billion.
In July 2024, the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district held a meeting to announce the land recovery of about 3,805 households and individuals. The project is expected to be invested in and constructed from 2026.
