Long An: Expected to start construction of 8 social housing projects with nearly 4,000 apartments in the second quarter of 2025

As planned, in the second quarter of 2025, Long An province will continue to start construction of 8 social housing projects in Duc Hoa, Ben Luc and Can Duoc districts. This is an important step to realize the goal of developing large-scale social housing, meeting the housing needs of workers and people with average and low incomes in the area.

Design of social housing apartment project in LA Home Ecological Urban Area (Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district)

According to the Director of the Department of Construction - Dang Hoang Tuan, implementing the Social Housing Development Project approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 13213/QD-UBND, dated December 19, 2024, in 2025, Long An aims to complete 5 projects with a total area of ​​2.13 hectares, equivalent to 774 apartments. At the same time, the province also plans to start 21 projects with a total scale of up to 129.33 hectares, providing 32,977 apartments.

Specifically, in the first quarter of 2025, 1 project with an area of ​​0.71ha (400 apartments) will be started; in the second quarter, 8 projects with an area of ​​7.37ha (3,891 apartments) will be started; in the third quarter, 5 projects with an area of ​​36.22ha (8,513 apartments) will be started; in the fourth quarter, 7 large projects with a total area of ​​more than 85ha (19,440 apartments) will be started.

To implement the above plan and objectives, on March 5, the Long An Department of Construction coordinated with investor Prodezi to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the social housing apartment project in the LA Home Ecological Urban Area (Luong Hoa Commune, Ben Luc District). This is the first social housing project of Long An province in 2025, initiating a plan to develop large-scale social housing in the area.

The project has a scale of 2 blocks, 8 floors high, with a total of 400 apartments, built on an area of ​​over 0.71 hectares and a total floor area of ​​29,700 square meters. The project is expected to provide accommodation for more than 1,200 workers, with a total investment of over 421.3 billion VND. According to the plan, this project will be completed by the end of 2025.

In the second quarter of 2025 alone, it is expected that 8 social housing projects will start construction in Duc Hoa, Ben Luc and Can Duoc districts. Specifically, My Hanh social housing project (175 units), Duc Lap Ha commune project (120 units), Phuoc Dong resettlement area project (400 units), Phu An residential area project (1,100 units), Mai Ba Huong residential area project (600 units), Duc Hoa urban residential area project (52 units), Tan Do residential area project (800 units) and Nhut Chanh resettlement area project (644 units).

These projects are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.

In particular, in the goal of starting construction of social housing in Long An province in 2025, there are a number of large-scale, outstanding projects such as the Social Housing Project in Hau Nghia New Urban Area (Duc Hoa district), an area of ​​16 hectares with 6,399 apartments; Social Housing Area in My Hanh Nam Commune (Duc Hoa district), an area of ​​16.43 hectares (4,000 apartments) and the largest project is in Phuoc Vinh Tay New Urban Area (Can Giuoc district) with an area of ​​62.44 hectares, providing 13,440 apartments.

It is expected that these large-scale social housing projects will start construction in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 and be completed in the third and fourth quarters of 2026.

With this plan, Long An province is gradually realizing the goal of developing social housing, meeting the housing needs of workers and people with low and middle incomes in the area./.
