We're in mid-December, which means Samsung's next big tech launch isn't far away. Samsung traditionally unveils its S series flagships at the beginning of the year, and 2025 is expected to be no exception. According to multiple previous leaks, the Galaxy S25 series will be unveiled in January, at the Unpacked event. Now, another leak has revealed the exact date of that Unpacked event.
According to Alvin on X, Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S25 trio at the first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, taking place on January 22, 2025. The event will be held in San Jose, California, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), or 1 a.m. January 23 Vietnam time.
Aside from the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, the event is not expected to introduce many other groundbreaking products. If you were expecting Project Moohan, Samsung's recently teased Android XR-powered virtual reality headset, you may be disappointed.

While Samsung’s augmented reality headset is confirmed for 2025, the first Galaxy Unpacked event doesn’t seem to be where it will be unveiled. Samsung may want to avoid overshadowing its flagship phone launch by introducing a whole new product category at the same time.
However, it is said that Samsung will "tease" Project Moohan at the Galaxy S25 launch event. It is likely that the official commercial name of this device will be announced, as "Project Moohan" is currently just a codename. Samsung may also reveal a launch timeframe to maintain attention throughout 2025. The glasses are expected to be launched alongside the company's new foldable phone line around July.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to have a more rounded design, according to leaker Ice Universe. At the same time, it could be the thinnest device in the Galaxy line in recent years, with significantly smaller screen bezels.
The Galaxy S25 series is also said to have larger screens. Specifically, the S25 has a 6.36-inch screen, while the S25 Ultra will increase the size to 6.9 inches, on par with the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
Like previous versions, the camera continues to be a big highlight on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to the latest leaked information, the ultrawide lens on the S25 Ultra will be upgraded to a 50MP sensor, a huge step up from the 12MP sensor on the S24 Ultra. This camera is expected to use four-in-one pixel binning technology to create high-quality 12.5MP photos.
In addition to the ultra-wide camera, the quad-camera system on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is also expected to include:
200MP main camera; 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom; 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. These improvements promise to continue to strengthen the position of the Galaxy S series in the high-end smartphone photography segment.
