For many years, sculptor Nguyen Vinh has been trusted by the People's Committee of Pleiku City to create the mascot of the year. These days, he and his colleagues are urgently completing the final stages of shaping and decorating the mascot representing the new year of At Ty 2025.
Sharing about the idea of this year's implementation, Nguyen Vinh said: Gia Lai is not only a land endowed by nature with many wild and beautiful landscapes but also bears a strong mark of cultural identity.
Responding to the theme “Spreading the fragrance of the forest, brightening the mountains” of the Spring Flower Street in 2025, he breathed national identity into the mascot of the year by creating a snake wearing brocade with typical patterns of the Central Highlands people.
In another area, he arranged a cluster of statues in a funny, cheerful cartoon style, representing the image of a snake family reunited, gathering around red watermelon and green banh chung - a typical feature in Vietnamese customs.
On both sides of the statue of Uncle Ho and the ethnic groups of the Central Highlands, there are mascots of a golden snake - symbolizing determination and majesty; and a silver snake - graceful and gentle.
The snake is designed with its head held high and its tail holding a bag of gold and silver, symbolizing a year of prosperity, success, and advancement, affirming the position of a new year of stability and development.
The beautiful and funny mascots above will soon appear at Dai Doan Ket Square to bring a joyful and exciting atmosphere to the public walking on the flower street as well as young people who like to check-in.
