The face of Da Nang's new "economic district"

According to experts, Lien Chieu is gradually asserting its stature as a new economic district of Da Nang, first of all thanks to its outstanding development speed. Total budget revenue as of November 19, 2024 has reached more than 832 billion VND, reaching 125.3% of the assigned estimate; more than 100 times higher than the figure in the first years of the district's establishment.

This is also the only district in Da Nang that can develop all three economic spearheads at the same time: industry, marine economy (seaports - logistics) and tourism. Therefore, Lien Chieu is playing an important role as a growth pole in the direction of transition from unipolar to multipolar to break through the city's economy.

Currently, there are more than 2,600 enterprises operating in the district, of which it is worth noting that the majority of enterprises have capital ranging from 10 to 50 billion VND, especially 18 enterprises with capital of 500 billion VND or more. Along with the positive economic effects of the region, industrial parks - high technology in Lien Chieu district are becoming attractive locations for domestic and foreign investment capital.

Recently, the new “economic district” of Lien Chieu continues to be “named” in the breakthrough development plans of Da Nang, affirming its increasingly important role and position. In particular, the deep-water seaport of Lien Chieu – part of the planning of the cluster of 5 main logistics centers of the country – is a special advantage for Lien Chieu to be given the “flag” to build a national key project – the first Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Vietnam, helping Da Nang rise to become the economic locomotive of the whole country.

Along with the breakthrough planning, the existing synchronous traffic infrastructure in Lien Chieu area from the national highway system, the Western beltway to key traffic intersections such as the international airport, railway station, central bus station, etc. is also creating the most complete infrastructure structure, helping the city maximize the value chain of the international port system.

Lien Chieu not only affirms its role as an "economic district" from its current contributions, with its infrastructure and dynamic projects, the district's future investment attraction capacity is likened to a wave about to rise, helping this area continue to affirm its position as an "economic district" in the picture of Da Nang in the breakthrough era.

Project chain strengthens regional position

With its new position, Lien Chieu is truly becoming a new driving force for the economy of Da Nang and the Central provinces to take off in the new era”, economic expert, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Trong Thinh said.

According to experts, the effects of the planning vision will spread to economic areas, including urban development. Actual surveys show that Lien Chieu district currently has the largest average population in Da Nang with nearly 220,000 people. Not to mention the "gray matter" labor force including experts and high-quality workers following the FDI wave pouring into FTZ in the future. This poses the task of developing modern, dynamic, and worthy urban infrastructure. In fact, a series of projects to strengthen the appearance of Lien Chieu has been and is being synchronously formed.

MIA Center Point project perspective   

First of all, we must mention the MIA Center Point project with 335 luxury apartments on the central Ngo Thi Nham street, promising to become a "destination" for the global intellectual community thanks to its connecting infrastructure and a system of utilities that focus on quality of life. Not only playing a role in enhancing the appearance of the area, MIA Center Point also contributes to solving the "pain" of lack of supply in the market in the context of increasing demand for Lien Chieu.

Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee has oriented that by 2030, Lien Chieu District will become a civilized and modern urban area, a key center for tourism, services, trade, finance and marine economy of the city. The future development vision and a series of well-implemented projects have been and are helping Lien Chieu rise and affirm its position as a new "economic district", a "top-of-mind" choice in a livable city and a sustainable investment destination.
