Madam, tonight (June 2), the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023 will have its opening night with the competition of the Vietnamese and Finnish teams. Can the City's preparations for the opening night of DIFF be said to be complete at this point?
For DIFF 2023, we have followed the plan issued by the People's Committee of Da Nang City. For the stands and stage, sound, lighting as well as the opening program, the unit assigned by the People's Committee has made very careful preparations.
At the shooting range, the cannons have been assembled and prepared. The jury has also been invited and all the rules and regulations for the jury's activities have been planned.
One of the things that the Organizing Committee is most concerned about is the traffic plan, as well as the security plan. The City Police have supported the mobilization of a large force and the support of the Central units located in the area has coordinated and supported the City Police so that we have a very thorough security plan, from ensuring security outside to security inside.
And the coordination of the City Police as well as the border guards in responding to maritime incidents.
In terms of decoration, the DIFF 2023 stage will have a modern style. The focal point is a location stamp, conveying the message that Da Nang City is a global convergence point, igniting the vitality and solidarity of 5 continents, overcoming difficulties and challenges after the pandemic.
The Department of Health has also arranged ambulances for medical work, ready for duty. Each content, each department and sector has also made specific plans for its activities and has assembled so that we can start a glorious opening night, attracting viewers but always ensuring safety.
With such demands, all units and members of the organizing committee must work at full capacity at a very high intensity to be able to complete a given request.
In 2023, after 3 years, the International Fireworks Festival will return, this is a great effort of Da Nang City. Up to now, all preparations are going very well. Right now, members of the art program have also sat down to check and give comments on the opening night program.
How large a number of visitors will the fireworks festival receive? And what scenarios does the City have in place to meet the needs of that increased number of visitors?
This is the 11th time the fireworks festival has been held, this year we hope to welcome 1.5 million visitors.
The city's infrastructure as well as the conditions for the city to be able to welcome such a large number of visitors are within its capacity, meeting everything from facilities, people to entertainment and culinary spots.
The opening program will be a collaboration of domestic and international artists.
In addition, along with the fireworks festival, we have 28 accompanying events that span over a month. These activities and events are also coordinated to attract tourists to our City longer, more and have experiences other than fireworks.
How do you evaluate the cooperation of businesses with the City in tourism development?
Da Nang city is a tourist city. To do tourism without businesses, the city will not have tourist attractions as well as infrastructure to attract tourists. Businesses always accompany the city.
For a tourist city, the contribution of businesses to the City is huge. Especially the Fireworks Festival, when we wanted to return in 2023 after many difficulties due to the pandemic as well as the economy, we asked for support from businesses many times.
The special staging for the medley of 2 songs performed by 2 talented singers of 2 generations, Tung Duong and Lam Bao Ngoc, on the opening night.
What are your expectations for the general picture of tourism in Da Nang City this summer?
For Da Nang, we have many activities to promote tourism such as tourism festivals and events. Recently, we also successfully organized the Asian Film Festival, activities and entertainment spots have also increased.
The fireworks festival can be said to be another boost to help the city's tourism return to the period of 2018 - 2019.
We have high hopes for the Fireworks Festival which will last for over a month. With the number of bookings during this period, we believe that a boost from the Fireworks Festival will help boost tourism in the City even further.
