British King's coronation costs more than $90 million

A report from the British government on November 21 revealed that the cost of the coronation of King Charles III of England in May 2023 cost at least 72 million pounds (more than 90 million USD).

Of which, the UK Department of Culture, Media and Sport spent more than £50 million on organizing the ceremony and related events, and the UK Home Office spent nearly £22 million on security, according to The Guardian newspaper.

Critics say it is a waste of money, with the government and people tightening their budgets in a difficult economic climate. Last year's coronation of King Charles III was attended by many international dignitaries, followed by a star-studded concert.
