Stick to daily schedule
After days of worry, the house of Ms. Le Thi Xuan's family, a poor, single-parent household in Van Thinh residential area (Van Yen ward) was officially started at the end of March. In less than a week, the entire 70m2 foundation infrastructure was completed. This result was achieved thanks to the efforts of the local government in propaganda and encouragement for the family, as well as the participation of mass organizations and neighbors who "rolled up their sleeves" to speed up the construction progress.
Ms. Le Thi Xuan said: “My family is poor, my brother (who is disabled) and I depend on each other to live. The house we live in has been dilapidated for many years, but because of difficult circumstances, we still have to live temporarily year after year. Now that the State has supported 70 million VND to rebuild a new, solid house, I am very happy. On the day the old house was demolished, the ward mobilized forces from the Farmers' Association, Women's Association, Youth Union, and people in the residential group, up to dozens of people to help; many people even lent me more money..., my worries were relieved. In just a few days, the site was cleared, creating favorable conditions for the project to start.”

According to the review, the entire Van Yen ward has built and repaired 7 houses (3 newly built houses, 4 repaired houses), of which 2 houses are for poor households, 2 houses are for near-poor households and 3 houses are for meritorious families. Up to now, 3/3 of the newly built houses have completed the foundation, 1/4 of the houses that need to be repaired have been completed and are ready to be handed over to the people.
Mr. Le Dinh Thang - Party Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Van Yen Ward said: "The Ward Steering Committee assigned teams and directed members to follow the progress of each house. Currently, we are focusing on supporting families to fill the foundation, taking advantage of favorable weather to build as soon as possible and follow the daily progress. At the same time, mobilizing social resources, in addition to the support of 70 million VND/house for newly built houses and 30 million VND/house for repaired houses from the Central Government, the ward has called for more than 65 million VND to support people with additional funds and materials for construction works".
Sharing the same joyful mood, the new house of Mr. Nguyen Van Bau (born in 1947), a poor household in residential group 10, Dai Nai ward, has also completed the foundation construction. He also received support of 70 million VND to build a new house. “In just over a month, my family will have a new, spacious house, no longer worried about flooding or dampness during the rainy season. In addition to financial support, officers and forces of the ward and residential group regularly come back and forth to check and urge the progress; neighbors help 100% of the construction, helping the family save more costs.”

With "lightning-fast" progress, by March 29, Dai Nai ward had completed the construction of 7/7 new and repaired houses for poor households and families of meritorious people.
Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Party Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Dai Nai Ward said: "Each project has a specific plan, arranging Steering Committee members and human resources to participate in the implementation to help people follow the progress, quality and avoid any delay at any time. While directing the construction work, the ward continues to mobilize social resources for funding, supplies and materials to provide maximum support to families. Strive to complete 100% of the repaired houses before April 15 and complete the built houses by May 19 and hand them over to the people."
According to the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Ha Tinh City, the entire city has 184 temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired, including 121 houses for poor and near-poor households and 63 houses for people with meritorious services. Through review, 105 houses are under construction (35 poor households, 40 near-poor households, 30 households with meritorious services) and 79 houses are under repair (23 poor households, 23 near-poor households, 33 households with meritorious services). Up to now, 100% of the houses under review have started construction, of which 30 have been completed; the remaining works are ensuring the progress and quality set out, determined to hand over 100% of solid houses to people before May 19.
Mobilizing resources for people to "settle down and have a career"

27 wards and communes in Ha Tinh city have 957 poor households and 1,348 near-poor households. Implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the whole city has mobilized more than 2.6 billion VND (1.754 billion VND at the city level, 860 million VND at the commune and ward levels); 4,000 working days; 214 tons of cement to support families in building and repairing houses for the subjects under review. It is worth mentioning that, with the spirit of "whoever has what contributes", from the city to the Party Committee and local authorities, they have carefully considered every valuable contribution, calling for support and contribution channels to create greater resources for the program; at the same time, creating a spreading effect among businesses and all classes of people.

As the days passed, the support account of the City's "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee continuously added positive numbers, representing the sentiment and responsibility of each individual, group, and business towards the community. Some contributed money, others donated dozens of tons of cement, tens of thousands of bricks; there were people who silently gave up their working days to become free bricklayers and construction workers in charity houses...
Mr. Tran Van Viet - Viet Hai Transport Trading and Service Company Limited said: “As a local branded enterprise, we are always aware of our responsibility, not only contributing to socio -economic development but also contributing with the local government to carry out social security work. Contributing our efforts, in the first 3 months of 2025, the company has allocated a welfare fund to support localities in building new rural areas with an amount of over 100 million VND; supported Ha Tinh city with 50 tons of cement and contributed 200 tons of cement to the general fund of the whole province to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses”.

The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the City regularly urge and inspect the implementation of the movement in localities; assign Party committees, authorities, and the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in communes and wards to carefully review each procedure and each stage in the implementation process; set a critical progress line for each project to determine the volume of work according to the plan, and report daily to the City Steering Committee.
From now until the deadline of May 19, there is more than 1.5 months left, 100% of the houses must be handed over to the people. In particular, the city continues to propagate and spread the humane spirit of the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to all classes of people; take advantage of and make the most of resources to better carry out the work of caring for the poor and families with preferential policies so that everyone can settle down and have a better life, contributing to completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the direction of the Government .
