Honda Motor Corporation of Japan invested in a motorcycle factory in Vinh Phuc province since 1996 (Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd.); in 2010, it invested in a gear production line; in 2013, it became a spare parts center; in 2014, it became the piston workshop with the largest capacity of Honda globally. In 2020, Honda Vietnam reached 2.6 million vehicles (up 0.5% compared to 2019), accounting for 79.7% of the national market (3.2 million vehicles).
One of the important issues that both sides are interested in is the development of electric vehicles in Vietnam. In particular, Honda Vietnam recently launched the ICONE electric motorbike line, marking a turning point in Honda Vietnam's business strategy, keeping up with the flow of technology, adapting to the era of electric vehicles - green, environmentally friendly means of transport.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong acknowledged the contributions of Honda Group to the socio-economic development of Vinh Phuc province since the province's re-establishment. Honda has always played a leading role, being one of the pioneering enterprises, laying the foundation for the manufacturing and processing industry in Vinh Phuc to develop as it is today.
Based on the impressive business results of Honda Vietnam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong suggested that Honda Motor Group continue to invest and expand production scale in Vinh Phuc.
Accelerate the green transition process, increase the production capacity of electric motorbikes and electric cars, meet the demand for green transportation in Vinh Phuc province in particular and the whole country in general. Suggest that Honda Motor Corporation pay attention to creating conditions to soon put HEV vehicles manufactured in Vinh Phuc into production, serving the needs of domestic and foreign markets.

Honda Motor representative thanked Vinh Phuc province for its affection for the group. Honda Motor committed to carefully studying and considering the potential advantages of the province to develop a plan to expand the factory, create more jobs for workers, and make positive contributions to the province's social security in the coming time. Honda Vietnam also committed to soon applying Net Zero criteria in Vietnam by 2050.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong pledged that Vinh Phuc will continue to develop more preferential policies and mechanisms to support Honda and Honda's supporting enterprises located in the province to have a favorable investment environment, effective business, and ensure short-term and long-term growth targets.
